Sharon & Feta
Sometimes love just won’t wait. For Sharon & Feta, COVID-19 meant these two scrapped their plans for a 300 guest wedding. “When Covid-19 hit us, all my wedding preparations went out the door and nothing went to plan” remembers Sharon. “So we cancelled the majority of our wedding plans and pushed our wedding forward four months and decided to get married during stage 3 of Melbourne’s lockdown.”
With just twenty guests on their new list, Sharon and Feta chose their newly built local church for their private vows, before celebrating at home with their guests. it was, as it turned out, exactly what they’d dreamt of, and of course, utterly perfect. Quint Photography was there to document every moment.
The proposal? Quite unexpected and not at all classic says Sharon. “So untraditional but one-day Feta randomly asked me if I wanted to get married. I didn’t know whether to laugh or get excited but I said “yer, I would” and so we started talking about marriage and so the following week, he bought my engagement ring and the rest is history.”
Feta dressed in a classic black tuxedo from Ferrari Formal.
Sharon found her dream gown at Jullia Bridal. Noting “I wanted the whole “princess look” so I chose a ball gown dress with the simple hairpiece and a very long veil with bedazzled heels to match.”
“I chose Orchids and Roses to be my flowers” notes the bride. “I love the elegant look it brings to any space or room.”
Sharon and Feta held their intimate ceremony at His Grace Worship Centre which was decorated by
LMT Creations. Sharon remarking “My favourite detail of the day would have to be the flower arrangements. Because our Church was still undergoing construction, my amazing team LMT Creations and my beautiful sisters and best Cedric made my ceremony look so beautiful even though the building had not yet finished. That meant the world to me.”
Sharon walked down the aisle with her parent’s to Ruelle’s “I get to love you”.
“I wanted my ceremony to be intimate, very emotional, warm, bright and have the presence of God there with us” explains Sharon. “I love that we got to share our special day with our immediate family members given the circumstances with COVID-19. We were very fortunate to have our families with us.”
The newlyweds celebrated with cake, and later, at their at-home reception their first dance, remembers the bride “We actually had a very traditional first dance. We had our Siva Samoa, which is a traditional dance we do and shared it with our family.”
Sharon and Feta loved their choice of photographer, noting “My photographer was absolutely amazing!!!! She was honestly the only person I wasn’t stressed with. She made me feel at ease during my preparations, so much so that I never had to worry about my photos.
When Covid-19 hit us, all my wedding preparations went out the door and nothing went to plan. So we cancelled the majority of our wedding plans and pushed our wedding forward four months and decided to get married during stage 3 of Melbourne’s lockdown. Sofia was the only one that I didn’t have any issues with. Whatever amendments I had to make, she adjusted too. When I changed my dates, she checked her schedule and made sure she was available. When it came to payments, she made options available and affordable that were within our budget.
I cannot stress enough how much I loved my photographer and her assistant who happens to be her husband. They make such a great team. Both our families loved them so much that they were invited to our reception as a guest, not as photographers.
Not only was her service great, when my photos arrived, they were just perfect!!! She had captured the most captivating moments of my wedding and didn’t leave a single detail out. I had photos from the ceiling of my church to the shoes we were wearing. The skills she has is astonishing!! Absolutely captivating. I’m so blessed to have cross paths with her. We are actually friends now haha so I’m glad I have great people that share such a special day with me.”
Advice from this bride to be to you? “Just know exactly what you want before you plan. Do a lot of research for what you’re after. An assistant/coordination is a must! Only use people you trust!!
Always get an invoice so you can keep track of your wedding budget. (Unless you’re rich).”
A big congratulations to you both Sharon and Feta! Thank you for sharing your story with us. Thank you also, to Quint Photography for sharing today’s photographs with us.
lovely couple
with stage 3 of melbourne lockdown, it would have been very tough for the couples to call their guests for the wedding, but I’m sure through virtual wedding platforms it would have helped them to conduct the wedding irrespective of the pandemic.
