What do we love about Aussie designed Madi Lane? Well, let’s start at the beginning. This is a collection, that in the vision of the designer, was made to celebrate a diversity of women. Women who want minimal, women who want romantic, women who know themselves and very much what they want to wear on their day.
The gowns are beautifully put together- delicate trims, beading, and stunning fabrics all curated onto gowns that range from classic style ballgowns to form-fitted pieces. From romantic skirts adorned with appliqué to modern European crepes free from adornment and all about the cut.
“Italia” comprises three collections, kickstarting with “Lecce”, it’s dreamy and feminine in design. Gowns are made from soft laces, translucence beaded chiffons, skirts that billow, sheer sleeves. Then there’s “Martina Franca”. This collection focusing on all the luxe, all the glamour, form-fitting gowns adorned with sparkling beaded detail, with silhouettes that show off every curve. And finally, there’s “Apulia” which embraces the Italian inspiration. A collection made from stunning Italian crepes in modern, sophisticated shapes, that are both modern and minimalist in style.
The “Italia” collection also launches the brand new (and beautiful) veils for the designers, beautiful pieces that add a little touch of tradition to your look.
I’m loving the chic, stunning beauty of “Monterey” with its wrap-style bodice, and beautiful lace fabric. I also adore the layered, ruffled skirt of the beautiful strapless “Mariana” and the clean, minimal lines of modern “Marlowe”.
Madi lane is not just about the beauty, the team is also focussed on creating gowns with as little waste as possible. They’re digital-only everywhere they can be, as well as re-using patterns season after season, minimise fabric offcuts, minimising the use of printed fabrics, and using natural hues instead of chemical dyes.
And the very best part? These gowns don’t segregate plus sizes into a different collection, instead, they’re included in all Madi Lane’s gowns. Every single gown in the collection coming in sizes 2-28. And that? That’s worth celebrating.
Designer Liz Young tells “Designing ITALIA was a journey of love – a love of creation, a love of romance, a love of exquisite bridal gowns, and encompassing all, a love for the women who wear them.”
