Jacinta & Alex
Out in the countryside, in a peaceful vineyard on the Gold Coast, Jacinta and Alex tied the knot! Their wedding featured soft and romantic blooms in peach and pink, the bridesmaids wearing floral gowns and carrying roses. With space for the smaller guests to run about, and the local alpacas nuzzling in on the portrait shots, it was a gorgeous day in every way! Twig and Fawn Photography captured the day.
The newlyweds met first in a shopping centre, Jacinta shares, ”We became good friends for a while before he asked me out. I think I said no the first one or two times, but he wore me down and I eventually said yes!” Two proposals in one evening is a special night indeed! The bride remembers, ”He took me up to Mt Gravatt lookout where he proposed as we sat on one of the benches overlooking the city lights. He was super nervous and completely forgot to get down on one knee, so he jokingly got down on one knee and proposed again when we got home. He proposed with his late mother’s engagement ring which made it even more special.”
Romantic and soft styling were key elements of the day, and Jacinta chose a gown to match this perfectly. She tells, ”I chose my dress because it was feminine and made me feel so beautiful and confident as soon as I stepped into it. I love the lace detailing on it, the long train, the buttons down the back and the underlay champagne colour. I chose to add off the shoulder sleeves as well. I just felt that it was my dress. I chose to use my mother’s veil from her wedding and I got my shoes from Kmart and my earrings from Lovisa. Our hair stylist, Sarah Neill Hair, had everyone’s hair looking amazing and she is the sweetest.” The groom wore a navy suit with white shirt from Ferrari Formal, with a floral tie from Asos.
Adding many special touches to her outfit, the bride wore her great grandmother’s brooch pinned to her dress, and a silver charm bracelet her mum had gifted her the morning of the wedding. She shares, ”My mum and my omie both wore the same brooch on their wedding day and it was really special to be able to wear it also, especially since she couldn’t make it to the wedding.” Jacinta chose to have her mum as her maid of honour, telling, ”My mum made our wedding special, she added so many little details that I wouldn’t have thought of. She made brunch the morning of the wedding, helped everyone get dressed, was the best maid of honour, helped with planning and so much more! She really went above and beyond to make sure I had the most perfect day.”
In the vineyard gardens, the springtime wedding was framed by an arbour of peach, pink and white flowers. The bride shares, ”Our ceremony took place on the lawn in front of the creek, it had a really relaxing, romantic feel which was perfect. We were both really nervous to speak in front of everyone and say our vows so we wanted our ceremony to be short and sweet. We aren’t really religious so we kept it pretty short and modern and chose phrases that reflected our views. I walked down the aisle to ‘Hold My Girl’ by George Ezra. I had my dad and stepdad walk me down the aisle together.”
Classically elegant, the flowers carried the theme of the day beautifully. Jacinta remembers, ”I really wanted a big, wild bouquet with a soft peachy colour palette and lots of greenery. I gave a few reference photos to Daisy & Co Flowers and basically gave her free reign. I had a white, pink, peach and greenery bouquet that was absolutely gorgeous.” Special touches on the day were pleasing for guests young and old, the bride and groom sharing, ”We thought it would be a cute idea to have ring pops as favours so we set them out on a table and let everyone grab one. We had laser cut place cards with the guest’s name on them that they took home. We also had two alpacas walking around for guests to pat, they were a last minute addition, but they were super cute and the kids loved patting them. Our photo booth was so much fun too, the guests had a blast in there and we got some really great photos out of it that we can all have a laugh at.”
The alpacas were a hit on the day, in the gardens of the Gold Coast vineyard setting. The bride shares, ”Our photographer, Kate from Twig and Fawn Photography, was amazing. She was super fun and relaxed and made us feel comfortable when taking photos, as we are normally shy in front of a camera. She managed to wrangle our crazy family into taking nice family photos and was always on beat. She is awesome! The photos she gave us are so amazing, everyone has given us so many compliments about them and I will treasure them forever.”
Wanting the reception to be a little more casual, the couple chose O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard. They tell, ”We chose it for our wedding because it was private and peaceful and had a lot of greenery and photo opportunities with the creek and vineyards. There was a lot of room to move around and space for the kids to run on the lawn. We liked that we didn’t have to travel because the ceremony and reception was in the same place, the food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. The reception marquee was beautiful with the draping and chandeliers and was the perfect size for our guests. Everyone loved the local alpacas too! We wanted the atmosphere to be casual, fun and relaxing, like a big party.”
The marquee housed all the guests for a delicious sit down meal, and a three tier cake from The Sweet Things Cakes, finished with fresh flowers and berries. Jacinta shares, ”Alex chose the song ‘Speechless’ by Shay and Dan for our first dance. We both aren’t dancers at all so we kind of just swayed in a circle until the rest of the bridal party came onto the dance floor. We made little party bags for the kids that contained toys and small things for them to play with throughout the night. My mum also drew the seating chart on an old windowed door that the venue provided. The amazing staff at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard did pretty much everything else for us.”
Thank you to our beautiful bride and groom for sharing your romantic day with us, and congratulations! Thank you also to Twig and Fawn Photography for your stunning images!
