We’re getting a bit cheeky today for ‘The Suit Issue‘ with Galah‘s ‘Budgie Smuggler’ cocktail…because swimsuits totally count (and we don’t mind what you wear under your wedding day tux, as long as you love it!). Or maybe you’re just hoping to set the mood for your impending honeymoon on a beach somewhere by sipping a couple of these fragrantly, spicy beauties?
Set in a former panel beater’s storage space, now sleekly reimagined as an industrial-meets-mid-century-modern loft, Galah is all about bringing Australian flavour to the forefront. It’s an impressive spot for wedding planning sessions (over inventive drinks and deluxe grazing boards, of course) with your partner and suppliers. Otherwise, for cool warehouse-style weddings, this Windsor venue seats 80 or can host up to 140 for a locally-focused cocktail party.
Budgie Smuggler by Galah
- 45ml Four Pillars rare dry gin
- 30ml Pepperberry puree (try Poimena Peppers’ version)
- 30ml Fresh lemon juice
- 15ml Galangal rosemary syrup
- 1 Dehydrated citrus wheel, rosemary sprig, blueberry or mint leaves, to garnish (optional)
Shake all ingredients – except garnishes – and strain into a collins glass or balloon snifter. Top with crushed ice. Garnish with a dehydrated citrus wheel and flamed rosemary sprig or alternatively a berry and a few mint leaves – this one’s so versatile you can easily adapt to your or your beloved’s taste.
