Rachel & Leon
We love a couple who wants to do a wedding their way, and actually makes it happen despite all the noise! For Rachel and Leon, their classic Melbourne wedding was about celebration, about a relaxed party, about celebrating eight years together. And we think they nailed it! They invited LXCreations Photography along to capture what was a day filled with utter Melbourne style!
The bride shares the story of how they came to be. “We met at university back in 2010, we both really liked each other! He had a gorgeous smile!”
Rachel wore a lace gown by designer Martina Liana, she tells “The dress was a lightweight ivory and lace dress with detailed beading. It had a low back and accentuated all the right parts! It was the perfect colour to offset the bridesmaid white dresses. Dress shopping was actually something I did not enjoy, it was very hard to find shops that stocked sizes other than 8. Being squeezed into an 8 and told to imagine what it would look like is not good for the confidence!” She added her grandmother’s pearl ring to complete her look.
Rachel and Leon were blessed with a beautiful day, as they headed to Rose Garden, St Kilda Botanic Gardens for their ceremony. “We picked the gardens as they had a gorgeous green hedge and simple yet beautiful grounds” explains the bride.
Rachel walked down the aisle to a favourite song played by her brother, she explains “I walked down the aisle to “Take over control” by Afrojack, My brother learnt how to play it on the piano for us! This song was very popular when we started dating, we spent many late nights dancing away to this song at the pub!”
Rachel and Leon were married by Zee Scott. “We wanted a chilled-out ceremony to celebrate what we are doing. Nothing too serious. Our celebrant was fantastic at her job and everyone was laughing and having a great time” tells Rachel. “Leon’s sisters signed the register for us. We wanted all our family to play a part in getting us married.”
Rachel and Leon chose Style Me Flowers to style their flowers, Rachel telling “I choose a messy bouquet with white and blush and green colours to complement the colour scheme. My amazing florist picked what flowers she thought would work best after seeing some photos of things I liked.”
Of their chosen photographer, the bride couldn’t stop raving. “Have you seen the photos… AMAZING!! He captured everything so perfectly, we could not have asked for a better photographer! Ben is so easy to get along with, he was happy to accommodate for certain photos and had an eye for detail. He was fantastic to work with.”
As darkness fell, Rachel and Leon joined their guests for a cocktail reception at All Smiles Docklands. “We chose All Smiles as it specialises in cocktail events and that was exactly what we wanted!” tells Rachel. “They were so amazing and accommodating and made everything run perfectly on the night”
A big congratulations Rachel and Leon! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day! Thank you also to LXCreations Photography for sharing today’s celebration!
Definitely love this. Congratulations!
