Chocolate fudge brownies with whiskey, you ask? Most certainly, yes! It is hard to know how the humble chocolatey brownie could be improved, and I would argue it is quite excellent as is. However, if you’re planning on making something extra special for your groom or the bridal party, a dash of whiskey in the mix is just the thing to ensure these delicious baked goods are never forgotten.
Homemade and scrumptious, baked goods are always a winner as a gift for those you love, particularly those it may be hard to buy for. Grab some lovely packaging and these whiskey brownies become perfectly professional!
What You Will Need:
- Ingredients for brownie mix; 200g dark chocolate, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 125g butter, 1 1/2 cups plain flour, 3 tbs whiskey
- Mixing bowl, mixing spoon, whisk, baking pan, baking paper
- Oven
- Round cookie cutter (optional extra)
- Individual gift tins (tins featured are from Kmart)
Step 1. Very slowly, and without boiling, melt the butter in a heavy based saucepan. Once it has melted, remove from the hob and break up the chocolate. Add the chocolate to the butter, and wait for it to melt.
Step 2. Add eggs and sugar to the mix and beat well with a whisk. Add whiskey and mix, before adding flour. Turn the mix into a lined baking pan and bake in the oven for 25 minutes. Once the brownie is cooked, let it cool, while lining your chosen tins/boxes with food grade gift paper.
Step 3. When the brownie is cold, use the cutter to cut out circles. You could also cut shapes by hand or simply cut out squares for a square box, they’ll all taste delicious no matter the shape!
Step 4. Pop the brownie into your chosen tins, covering the top over with spare paper. Fasten with some twine and a note, and these mouth watering whiskey brownies will be a hit! For guest favours, for your groom, for the men, for the bridal party, everyone will love them and will no doubt be asking for more!
