Jacinta & Bevan
Clear skies, sparkling blue water and lush tropical foliage surrounded Jacinta and Bevan on their luxe and modern wedding day. Captured by Matthew Evans, this gorgeous celebration is overflowing with light, fun and love!
Although the bride and groom shared mutual acquaintances, they only met while out one night at a gig. Bevan proposed to Jacinta on their anniversary weekend, with a sweet picnic at Bells Rapids in Perth. The bride remembers, ”I remember the moment like it was yesterday, even the damp smell of the earth. Bevan began describing our life so far and presented a photo book of all our recorded memories to date. With a nod of my head, through ugly tears shielded by my hands, I said YES!”
Setting out with a clear picture in her mind of her dream dress, the bride ended up with something quite different. She shares, ”I pictured a simple and elegant gown – no lace, no beading, just white. I searched high and low for my vision and when I couldn’t find the perfect dress I turned to the Still White website for inspiration to have a dress made. This is where I stumbled across Zhanel Bridal Couture and a dress that had never entered my mind – contemporary, french lace, embellished with Swarovski crystals and pearls.” The groom wore a traditional tuxedo with a black velvet diamond bow tie and pocket square, with custom made black leather cufflinks.
The couple’s children made for a gorgeous wedding party! Originally planning to elope, the bride tells, ”I had my heart set on eloping overseas, just the four of us with our parents. While the guilt of excluding other family members consumed our minds, Bevan suggested we travel interstate so my grandparents could attend. As all of our guests were travelling from out of town and interstate it was important for us to have the ceremony and reception in the one location. The Sugar Wharf ticked all boxes!
The bride and groom had a first look before the ceremony, before Jacinta surprised her father with a scenic flight over Port Douglas! She shares, ”I surprised my father prior to walking me down the aisle. A special moment shared only between a father and his daughter. I will never forget the turquoise blue water, the waterfall peaking through the rain forest canopy or the stingray and turtle seen from up above.
Set by the water and on a perfectly sparkling day, Jacinta and Bevan’s ceremony was full of love and laughter. They tell, ”Our celebrant included a fun element in the ceremony, asking the guests to raise their right hand and make a vow to promise to honour the occasion by having a glass or two of champagne, laugh with old and new friends, dance like nobody’s watching and enjoy themselves and promise to return home with memories of a magical day. We featured two wedding readings in the ceremony, read by Bevan’s eldest brother Matthew and my dear friend Janelle. These included ‘The One’ by Anon and ‘Sonnet’ by Pablo Neruda.” The bride walked down the aisle to ‘I Love You Always Forever’ by Betty Who.
The venue provided a beautiful backdrop, and stylists The Vintage Hire Company created magic! Jacinta shares, ”The colour palette was emerald green, white and blush pink. The Vintage Hire Company created a cascading bouquet of blush pink and white phalaenopsis, roses and ranunculus. The most incredible florals I have ever seen! I had my heart set on Matthew Evans before the venue was even considered. When it came to our wedding I was looking for a photographer who could really capture the moment. Matt is incredibly cool and collected, an absolute pleasure to be around. He did a phenomenal job and went above and beyond for us, photographing us all day and night long. The photos really are a moment in time we will cherish forever.
Fresh coconuts for cocktails and luxe styling set the scene for a visually lovely day! The bride tells, ”I had every faith in Deb at The Vintage Hire Company and being an interstate bride, this was so important. Deb shared my vision of a luxe upmarket style with elements of emerald, blush pink, gold and marble and what she created was out of this world amazing! Deb is absolutely incredible at what she does, bringing your dream to life. The ‘Best Day Ever’ package is perfect for interstate couples. Deb organised everything from the celebrant, ceremony and reception fit out, floral arrangements, caterer, music and more.”
With the doors flung open wide, roses and orchids decorating the tables and foliage hanging from the beams, the newlyweds celebrated being married with their nearest and dearest. They had their first dance to ‘It’s Your Love’ by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Jacinta shares, ”A lover of country music, the first time I heard this song I knew it would be my first dance one day!”
A very big congratulations to our gorgeous bride and groom, and thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Matthew Evans for sharing your beautiful images!
