In the bridal world, fall officially kicks off each year when the new Fall 2018 collections are unveiled at New York Bridal Fashion Week. In early October, the top bridal designers flock to the Big Apple to reveal their latest collection of frocks (and plenty of pants and jumpsuits this year!), whilst media and retailers race from one stunning runway show to the next to snap all of the latest looks and freshest trends. This year playful layered gowns added bounce and volume to the runways and the buzz around bridal capes has only intensified. Meanwhile brides can get two looks in one with detachable statement sleeves, and much more.

Fairytale Capes and Hoods

Capes fit for a princess or a villain? These capes available in various lengths, forms and fabrics, are elegant and delicate with a side of wicked (in my opinion!) We generally spotted embellished sheer capes that drape over the bride’s shoulders and sweep down to the floor, whilst also allowing us to peek the entire dress too. If a traditional veil isn’t for you, a statement cape can take its place.

Statement Sleeves

Long, short, sheer, bell and floor length – we are loving chic sleeves this year! Detached sleeves are trending, which allows brides to achieve two looks in one: sleeves on for the more formal proceedings of the wedding day then slide them right off for the reception!

Mid-Length Dresses

Not too short and not too long, the midi wedding dress is just right for the bride who loves to show off a hint of leg and her cute shoes.

Get the Layered Look 

Add va-va-volume to your dress with playful layers. Just be prepared for your guests to be taking boomerang videos of you shimmying on the dance floor all night!

Tickle Me Pink

There’s something soft and romantic about a blushing pink wedding dress. While it’s not exactly daring or edgy to go pink, I still take my hat off to brides who are bold enough to deviate from traditional white. Here’s the pink dresses we can’t forget from the Fall 2018 collections.

Power Pantsuits

She wears the pants, he wears the pants, we all wear the pants. Nearly every show we attended featured at least one pant or jumpsuit look for the brides who do not say “yes” to the dress. The various styles unveiled, from power pantsuits to silky jumpsuits, speak to a multitude of preferences.
