Brittany and Peter
It was a love story that started at work. Boy has a job, future wife happens to walk in one day on the other side of the world and they fall in love. This is the love story of Brittany and Peter. Captured beautifully by Madeleine Chiller, the pair chose a day that was centered around greenery and personal touches with a very much intended relaxed vibe,
From the bride’s romantic lace gown to the handmade mint green paper cone backdrop, every little moment (including sweet little Welsh inspired touches) was carefully thought out to reflect the beautiful ease of the day.
The bride chose a gorgeous lace gown designed by Rue de Seine, noting ” I chose the dress as it was free flowing, not structured, a little bit boho and very comfortable. The dress was bought before the venue was decided but as it turned out it matched the venue as the dress had big floral print lace (and the venue was a florist greenhouse)!”
The couple met before the ceremony for photos, remembering “The first look was a highlight, we both had pre-wedding jitters, but getting to see and reassure each other before the impending nuptials was calming and helped us to be able to enjoy the ceremony more as we were both more relaxed going into it!”
The bride bought a small posy from Flowers Vasette on her wedding morning in shades of pink and green.
Brittany and Peter chose for their ceremony and reception, Glasshaus Nursery noting “The Glasshaus is a relaxed venue. There are lots of trees, bushes and flowers that scale the walls and some hanging plants lowered from the wooden beams on the roof. Once it got dark the lighting was very warm and moody. Because the venue was so beautiful with natural greenery and florals, there wasn’t too much need for decorations.” The couple did, however, create a paper cone backdrop together for their ceremony.
“We included on our wedding cake table photos of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days.”
The groom made each guest a hand carved welsh love spoon out of huon pine for each guest’s wedding favor.
The bride walked down the aisle to Calon Lan – a Welsh hymn.
Chloe Vieth officiated the ceremony, the bride telling “We wanted a relaxed ceremony, where we talked about our back story and made special mentions to our loved ones who couldn’t make it. And special mentions to our parents who have been pivotal in our lives. The ceremony was by Chloe Vieth, our celebrant, who did a fantastic job. Our reading was by Victor Hugo.”
Guests feasted with a cocktail style reception. The cake was made by the bride, who chose a lemon and poppyseed cake (in honour of her grandmother).
The dancing set the tone for the evening, Brittany explaining “We started off with Elvis Presley and then stopped it halfway through to have The Kinks so everyone could come and dance with us.”
Congratulations Brittany and Peter! Thank you for sharing the stories of your day with us! Thank you also to Madeleine Chiller for sharing today’s wedding.
