Christina & Justin
The bright colours and simple styling of this modern Italian orchard wedding will have you dreaming of an Italian getaway! And did we mention the gold sequinned wedding gown? Absolute heaven! Photographer Chloe May shares her gorgeous photos with us today.
Christina tells of how the couple met, saying, ”We met through a mutual acquaintance. We were friends for about a year before we got together as a couple, and it was nice to get to know each other as friends first.” And boy do we love it when friendship blossoms into something even more beautiful!
Deciding that white wasn’t an option, Christina tells of how she chose her gown, remembering, ”As my engagement ring was rose gold, I thought gold would be a beautiful colour for me to wear. I knew Justin wanted to wear a blue suit and thought gold and blue would look great together too. I knew I wanted something simple and elegant, and I found it in Miss Gowns. I went in, tried it on and was sold. It was the only dress I tried on!”
The groom wore a blue suit jacket with beige pants, with the bride telling, ”In the end Justin wanted something a bit more relaxed than a full suit. He felt really comfortable being more casual on the day.” Christina and Justin didn’t have a bridal party, but included their son Cooper in the ceremony.
Choosing Sophie Cleary as their celebrant was a decision Christina and Justin were delighted with. The bride shares, ”Sophie was so reassuring and helpful leading up to the wedding, and at the ceremony on the day. I was very nervous but she made me feel instantly relaxed. She just put everyone in a great frame of mind to enjoy the rest of the day.” The bride and groom had two readings at the ceremony that were unique and written especially for them. Christina remembers, ”The readings were both very beautiful and reflected Justin and I perfectly. They made our ceremony very personal which is exactly what we were hoping for.”
Christina’s brother walked her down the aisle to ‘I Am Into You’ by Chet Faker.
Having chosen a gorgeous gold gown, Christina was keen to select blooms that would look stunning against her dress. She shares, ”My favourite detail of the day was my wedding bouquet! I chose deep burgundy, more interested in the colour than the flowers themselves. I wanted the flowers to look great against gold and I think they did! My florist Gillian Pollard nailed the brief and I couldn’t have asked for a better result!”
The bride wanted to include a very special heirloom on the day, telling, ”I wore my Mother’s gold necklace that my Father had given to her as a gift from Italy. As my mother had recently passed away I wanted to wear it to remind myself of her and to feel that she was with me on the day. It was my something borrowed, something old and something blue. It was perfect!”
With her Italian heritage, choosing Farm Vigano was an easy decision. Christina shares, ”We really wanted the ceremony and reception at the one place. When we first went out to the farm we just fell in love with the Orchard for the ceremony. It has a very peaceful feel to it. My dad was Italian and when I saw the food menu for the day it took me back to the lunches that dad would cook for us. The food and wine was beautiful which was really important to us. The farm reminded me of being in Italy so I knew I would be very happy spending my wedding day there.”
Capturing the bride and groom’s wedding day was the talented Chloe May. Christina recalls, ”Chloe was amazing! She was so professional and confident which was what we were looking for. She took the lead on the day and told us where we needed to be for great photos. We didn’t have to worry about a thing and everything thing we asked for she did. We’re really happy with the end results.”
A very special congratulations to our stunning bride and groom on your wedding, and thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Chloe May for your stunning photographs!
