Allie & Nathan
Beautiful golden sunsets, fairy lights and love stories sound like the most beautiful way to spend a day and this romantic Casuarina wedding from Love from Luff captured the most perfect blend of beautiful details and modern touches.
Allie starts us off with the tale of how the couple came to be. “We went to high school together, although, we didn’t make us official until we finished year 12 in September 2008.”
The groom wore a suit from Oxford, finishing his look off with an emerald green knitted tie.
The bride wore a stunning long sleeve gown by George Elsissa , she remarks “This is quite the story. I originally purchased a dress from a designer, and soon after the company was placed into liquidation, which meant I was not guaranteed to receive my dress or money back. I was contacted by a TV show who set me up with my angel, George Elsissa. It was quite the ordeal, but once I met with George, it was a perfect fairytale dress journey, as it should be!”
Allie and Nathan chose the beautiful Osteria for their wedding. “We were set on having a venue where we could have both our ceremony and reception. Osteria was perfect for this! It also gave us the option to be married indoors, in a venue that wasn’t a chapel, which gave us a blank canvas that we could style as we wanted to. Lots of green and florals were incorporated to give the whole room a botanical feel.”
“I loved walking down the aisle with my dad – I am his first daughter. And he was one proud papa!. I walked down the aisle to Auld Lang Syne. This has always been a feel good song for me. The meaning is loosely ‘time gone by’. Nathan and I had been together 8 years before we married. This song represented the new stage of our lives. It was quite unique but my beautiful musician Sarah prepared a sample for me before the big day and after I heard that, there was no going back.”
Candice Wilson officiated the ceremony, the bride remembering “We wanted everyone to feel comfortable, so we opted to have the ceremony indoors, as it was the middle of winter (we needn’t worry about the cold as it was a picture perfect day), and provide a seat for each guest. We are both very relaxed people, which is why we wanted a relaxed feel which our setup and vows reflected. Our celebrant Candice Wilson was also one of our favourites! She was always so natural and brought a beautiful calm vibe to our ceremony. Her words during the ceremony summed us up perfectly. She understood us and she understands big love!”
“I was lucky enough to have all four of my grandparents attend. Collectively having been married for almost 100 years.”
Allie and Nathan chose The Events Lounge to plan and style their day, remembering “Our wedding planner, Rachael, made the planning process so seamless, given we moved interstate halfway through the planning, it wouldn’t have happened without her. The day couldn’t have run any smoother. I have my beautiful wedding planner to thank for this I’m sure. The weather was absolutely perfect, a perfect mix between winter and summer! The day was a fairytale, in every sense. I cannot think of one single detail I would change.”
Sweet handmade touches were dotted throughout the day, Allie remarking “Our save the dates were made by my Dad, he put a whole lot of love (and a little blood, sweat and tears) into these and they are something we will cherish forever. We wanted to include Nathan’s mum incredible rocky road! It’s always waiting for us at home. I think our guests enjoyed this as it was all gone by the time I managed to get to it!”
Of their first dance, Allie remembers “It is funny because Nathan and I and a few of our friends decided to do ballroom dancing in 2008. Nathan and I were partnered together and this is where our feelings for one another truly blossomed. He danced so well that the teacher asked him to take up competition dancing! He would learn both the men’s and ladies dance routine because I never picked it up quite as quickly as him. Our first dance was to “You make it real” by James Morrison. “When your head is strong, but your heart is weak” Nathan has been my strength ever since he would learn both our roles at Ballroom dancing. It is a perfect song for us.”
Congratulations on your marriage Allie and Nathan! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Love from Luff for sharing today’s celebration!
