Libbi & Chris
With a love for all things yesterday, newly engaged Libbi and Chris decided to take their engagement photos with photographer Amanda of Peppermint Photography at Woolloongabba Antique Centre. The pair, who met each other through friends spent their day amongst the antiques – which provided a fun quirky backdrop for their story to unfold.
Of their first date, Chris tells “We went out to dinner and she would not let me get a word in. The girl can talk. And eat.” Libbi adding “I think we just had pasta and I talked non-stop while inhaling gnocchi. It was nice to get to know each other formally, having been in peripheral social circles for so long. I eat a lot and eat really fast, I think he found that amusing.”
On what he loves about Libbi, Chris tells “I love our supportive dynamic. I always know if I have a tough week at work, she will make sure there’s no stress for me at home. I do shift-work and she lives, works and studies around my shifts while I support her in anything she needs.”
On what she loves about Chris, Libbi remarks “We’re like two weird peas in a pod. We find ourselves thinking and expressing the same odd thoughts. Also, we support each other immeasurably. We always have each other’s backs no matter what.”
Of their magical proposal, Libbi fills us in. “I love our proposal story. Chris bought my dream ring from Chinchar Maloney. I commented on a picture of the ring set on Instagram and after he proposed, Chinchar Maloney replied to me that it was my very own ring set I had commented on! He proposed at our date spot, after taking me out to dinner despite his exhaustion from work that day. Chris proposed on a bridge covered in Christmas lights as we ate some after-dinner ice cream. We often go there for ice cream and now it’s a special place we can revisit.”
