Edwina & Matthew
I am a little bit in love with Edwina and Matthew’s modern Mindaribba House Wedding. I mean, when you have a groom who practically skips down the road on his way to tying the knot- how can you be anything else? Edwina and Matthew chose Justin Aaron to capture their photographs.
The newlyweds share with us the story of how they came to be. “Through mutual friends. There were many times prior to our first meeting that we could have met, however, it wasn’t until we attended the same music event in separate groups of friends that we crossed paths!”
Edwina chose a modern Rachel Gilbert gown with Ralph Lauren shoes, remarking, “I was after a modern take on a bride’s dress so had an idea of the designers in mind. It was off the rack and the first dress I tried on! I tried on 2-3 others but kept coming back to that one. I actually bought the dress a year before the wedding. I had a very busy year with work coming up and knew finding the time to go dress shopping would have been difficult, let alone dress fittings every month! Special mention also has to go to my Gold Ralph Lauren platform sandals which I’m still in love with!”
Edwina and Matthew chose Mindaribba House for their wedding, telling, “We fell in love in Mindaribba as soon as we saw the pictures on line. The fact we could have the ceremony and reception at the same venue, in addition to being able to stay at the same location and feel like it was truly all ours for the entire weekend. It’s such a beautiful place in a magical setting and fit our picture of what we wanted out day to be perfectly. The owners and staff at Mindaribba were also amazing to work with, making the experience even better.”
Edwina walked down the aisle to Claire de Lune by Flight Facilities.
Edwina and Matthew chose Phillip Greentree to officiate their day, noting, “We wanted it to be emotional but not too serious. Having some fun during the ceremony was really important to us. We did have some readings, both of which ended up being animal related. We chose “How falling in Love is like owning a dog” by Taylor Mali and “A lovely Love Story” by Edward Monkton (which is actually about Dinosaurs falling in love!) We even had our beloved ridiculous pug, Waffle involved in the ceremony as our ring bearer!”
Of their photographer, the newlyweds remark, “We sorted through so many photographers, but were so taken by Justin’s style where he really captured the feeling of the day with such beautiful images. He was so great to work with on the day with the group shots. He also managed to capture so many beautiful candid moments throughout the day and night.”
“Good food and wine were probably the most important thing to us. We had a couple of hours for canapes so that everyone could enjoy the beautiful surroundings, as well as the fun lawn games. Then dinner was banquet style. Speeches were broken up during the evening; some outside and some whilst seated for dinner so that everyone had plenty of time to mingle and have fun.”
Little Wren Flowers created the floral arrangements for the day, the bride and groom remarking, “Special mention goes to Little Wren florist; our verbal brief was somehow translated into exactly what we’d imagined.”
Of their romantic first dance, Edwina remembers, “Nothing was choreographed. We didn’t even practice! It was just a special moment for us to share with each other on the day. We chose an acoustic version of I’m Into You by Chet Faker.”
Congratulations on your marriage Edwina and Matthew! Thank you for sharing your stories with us! Thank you also to Justin Aaron for sharing this gorgeous day.
