Louisa & Dean
Waterfalls are clearly becoming a favourite around these parts when it comes to engagements. Something about the ever changing landscape always makes me fall just a little more in love with Mother Nature. Louisa and Dean chose Daisy & the Duke and spent a day amongst the rapids, capturing their newly engaged excitement.
Louisa and Dean share the tale of how they came to be. “On the 16th of October 2010, Dean and Louisa first laid eyes on each other in the late hours of the evening on a nightclub dance floor (romantic right?!). Dean’s dance moves and great charisma on the dance floor won Louisa’s attention immediately. However, he had just turned 18 and he knew this might get in the way of attaining this older girl’s phone number.
Thus, the freshly turned 18 year old was suddenly 20 to permit the exchanging of phone numbers. A casual walk along South Bank Parklands with fish and chips in hand, made for a perfect first date. Dean eventually had to come clean about his faux age as his stories didn’t seem to add up. After some time, Louisa decided to give him a second chance and they have been inseparable ever since.”
On what he loves about his future wife, Dean notes, “I love how enthusiastic Louisa is about the big and little things in life and always has a smile on her face, even when times are tough. I love the way she doesn’t care what anyone thinks and just goes with the flow. And her singing is pretty great too!”
Louisa remarks, when asked what she loves about Dean, “I love how much fun I have with Dean. There is never a dull moment when I am with him. He is a natural leader, fair and just. He brings out the best in people, and I love him for it!”
The proposal took place in beautiful Whistler (Canada), Louisa and Dean remembering, “In true Dean style, he pulled off a pretty great proposal five years later. Whilst holidaying in Canada, Dean planned to propose to Louisa while on a horse sled ride at Lake Louise. Unfortunately, the day he chose was the same day Mother Nature decided to have a -22 snowstorm.
With the ring in his pocket, the freezing sled ride happened, but the proposal did not. On to Plan B, a dog sled ride at the next stop, Whistler! It was the perfect scene; blue skies, snow, forest, a comfortable 2 degrees Celsius and 8 awesome sled dogs. When they reached the lookout, Dean nervously got down on one knee and asked Louisa to marry him. Of course she said, ‘YES’!”
Absolutely beautiful, what a romantic location for a fantastic engagement shoot!
