Zoe and Andrew
Ubud in Bali is always a favourite for Australian destination weddings and Royal Pita Maha Ubud wedding captures all the magic of Bali and the added bliss of a very special love story. Zoe and Andrew chose Elk and Willow to capture their day.
On how they met, Zoe fills us in. “We met over 11 years ago at a friend’s birthday. Two of our good friends set us up and the rest is history!”
The couple chose the Royal Pita Maha, Ubud for their wedding, which was planned and styled by Botanica Weddings. Zoe explains, “The hotel was amazing and the views were breathtaking. Botanica Weddings was the company I used to plan and organise my wedding. They did an amazing job and made it very easy for us just to enjoy the day.”
Zoe chose a gown by Rue De Seine. She tells, “It was simple and elegant. I wanted something nice and light for the Bali weather.”
Zoe’s brother in law played “Stand By Me” as she walked down the aisle.
“The ceremony was very personal and relaxed. We wrote our own vows and had family share memories of us instead of readings.”
“It was the most perfect day. We had many dramas leading up to the wedding though. We were delayed two days arriving, my dress got covered in black marks during transit, family members delayed, MC couldn’t get to the wedding. It was kinda cursed but it all worked out amazingly on the day.”
Of their photographer, Zoe remarks, “My very good friend Jessica Andrews from Elk and Willow photography took my photos. I knew I was going to get amazing shots.”
“Our wedding was quite small and intimate with 40 guests. We wanted everyone to enjoy it as much as us. There was lots of dancing and plenty of alcohol.”
Of the first dance, Zoe remembers, “We danced to an acoustic version of “I Wanna Grow Old With You” from The Wedding Singer.”
Congratulations Zoe and Andrew! Thank you for sharing your story with us! Thank you also to Elk and Willow for sharing today’s wedding.
