B’ashae & Jesse
There is a very special romance to B’ashae & Jesse’s country Tallis Winery wedding. The wide, sweeping plains, fields of green and rusty old country buildings. This gorgeous country wedding was beautifully filmed by Native Videos and captured by Nicole Williams Photography.
“We first starting ‘going out’ when we were 16 years old and going to the same high school. Jesse used to catch my bus to football training in Dookie, where I kept a close eye on him!”
B’ashae chose the Hayley Paige Londyn Gown. “I had a picture in my head before looking for a dress and I chose the exact opposite. I was adamant I didn’t want a ball gown style dress. My mum picked the dress up after looking all day and I wasn’t too sure about it however once trying it on I just knew it was the one. I felt so special in it.”
B’ashae and Jesse married at Tallis Winery, explaining, “We chose Tallis Winery as it significant to us as Dookie is our home town. Our Ceremony took place on the top ridge of a hill at Tallis Winery. It was absolutely perfect. We had views of Dookie on one side and views of the North East Alpine Region on the other which included Mt Buffalo (where Jesse proposed!). It was so significant for us to have it here.”
“Jesse’s wedding ring was his late father’s wedding ring melted down and re sized. This really meant a lot to him. We also were able to use a ring pillow that was made by Jesse’s gran. Jesse’s younger brother was able to walk this to us and hand us our rings during our ceremony.”
B’ashae chose Feels Like Home – Chantal Kreviazuk for her walk down the aisle.
Jane Harvey, officiated the ceremony, B’ashae remembering, “We wanted our ceremony to be traditional with a twist of personality. We really wanted to find a balance of formalities and personality. My dad walked me down the aisle which was a really special moment for us. We also had a sand ceremony which I am now so grateful for as it’s such a great keepsake that we can look back on.”
Of their photographer, B’ashae notes, “Nicole Williams was absolutely fantastic. She was just like another member of our bridal party when taking pictures. We all felt so comfortable with her and she raved all night with us. She was so much fun to have around!”
B’ashae tells, “We really wanted a wedding that was ultimately us. We both love the outdoors so we really wanted an outdoor wedding.”
The Fructose Friendly Chef created a naked wedding cake for the newlyweds.
Dookie College Historic Winery hosted the reception, the bride remarking, “We weren’t originally planning on having our wedding reception at Dookie College Historic Winery, but once we had our engagement party there it confirmed how much we loved this space and it matched everything we wanted for our wedding. It was a blank canvas and we could make it how we wanted.”
“We DIY’d a lot of different details! We had so much fun doing it too! Jesse made the flower boxes on the tables and signage for around the reception and ceremony. (Putting his carpentry skills to work!). Jesse also made his own spinnerbaits (fishing lures) which were the colours of our wedding which were very popular wedding favours. We also set up the entire reception ourselves, which the help of our bridal party. We all had so much fun the week prior putting everything together and decorating! I was very lucky as I all my bridesmaids were very creative as well.”
Of their first dance, B’ashae remembers, “Our first dance was the moment where we both took everything in together. It was such a great feeling I don’t think anything can beat the connection we left during that moment.
A significant moment for me was also my first dance with my dad. I caught him by surprise by playing a song “Even When I’m Sleeping by Leonardo’s Bride” which was a song that he gave my sister and I when we were young to listen to during some difficult times. My sister also joined us during this dance which was so special. It definitely pulled a big heart string for dad!!”
Native Wedding Videos captured the stunning wedding film of the day – packed to the brim with country charm! B’ashae says, “We are so so appreciative of our wedding film to look back on!”
