This week on Behind The Door With we visit the sunny Gold Coast, home to Homebodii. Established in 2011, Homebodii has developed a strong following and are known for their feminine range of bridal robes and sleepwear. The brand has gone on to establish themselves as one of Australia’s leading labels, stocked both nationally and internationally in leading retailers. Their new range, HBSHE, includes a beautiful selection of party dresses perfect for special occasions. I was so excited to visit their gorgeous Queensland studio and speak to founder and designer Ingrid Bonnor.

“I created Homebodii and HBSHE to serve as two different brands; we see women wearing our garments for all types of memorable occasions, whether that be for a bridal party, a gift for that special person in their life or the special time in hospital for the birth of their child”, says Ingrid. “The go to garment for “me time” helps you feel feminine before and after that warm bath or while having that early morning cup of tea”.

The robes come in a stunning array of soft fabrics, with everything from silky satins to soft lace. I also love the pastel colours and floral touches that make them feel extra feminine and girly. The sleepwear range is both soft and comfortable, but still sexy, and I imagine would be a real treat to slip into on your wedding night!

With the popularity of the sleepwear and robes still growing, Ingrid realised that the next logical step would be to add a line of special occasion dresses too. HBSHE dresses are focused around special occasions such as the engagement party, bridesmaids’ dresses, raceday, hen’s parties or a little number for your birthday. Still incorporating the traditional Homebodii soft pastel hues and elegant lace styling, they suit a variety of body types and ensure everyone feels comfortable in their own skin – so important for bridesmaids!

Homebodii is open by appointment only, so each customer gets a perfect private session in the showroom. With its crisp white walls, luxurious rug and rack upon rack of gorgeous pieces I’m sure you and your bridal party could spend quite a bit of time in here. There’s also a great little gift section filled with sweet stationery, books and treats like polkadot teacups (love these of course!) as well as their specialized embroidery service for personalising robes.

Homebodii has a stunning website and exhibits at bridal fairs all over Australia but Ingrid tells me that opening the store has been fantastic.  The office and workroom at the back of the store means that Ingrid and her team are never far from the garments and having appointments there with brides means that they can offer the full experience. Imagine heading to the Gold Coast for your hen’s weekend and popping into Homebodii to try on robes and bridesmaids’ dresses!
