For our third and final Christmas gift guide, (see for the bride & bridesmaids and for the groom & groomsmen) we’re rounding it up with couple and newlyweds gift ideas.
For me, this gift guide has a two fold approach- it’s full of great gifts to give a couple at Christmas, for an engagement or for their wedding. But they also translate out to presents for each other. Perhaps you want a gorgeous crockery set for your wife to be? Or a great cook book for your husband? As someone who loves to spend a lot of time at home, this gift guide is one of my favourites every year.

Papier d’Amour “We Are All Mad Here” Duck Egg Print ($55), would make a fun gift for the newlyweds in your life, or for your beloved for when life just doesn’t need to be taken so seriously.
This has to be maybe the most unusual but nifty idea in our gift guide. A speaker in a lightbulb! Meet the Sengled Pulse Solo Led + Wireless Speaker ($129 Available from Machtig), if you’re an apartment dweller with not a lot of space, or just love a good gadget you’ll love how this wireless speaker works. Use it like a normal lightbulb, connect via an app to your phone (which controls both music and light) and have tunes all night long. It’s that easy!
A delicious smelling candle, like the Peppermint Grove Australia Large Candle In Vanilla Caramel ($39.95) makes a good gift for a couple who like to spend their nights snuggling inside with a little luxury. This one especially ranks highly for lovers of foodie scents because it smells just like a caramel brownie.
The bright bold colours and modern design of the Aura by Tracey Ellis Kali Tea Cup in Pastel Pink and Peppermint ($49.95 In Set of Four), Aura by Tracey Ellis Kali Serving Bowl in Pastel Pink ($39.95) Kali Large Bowl in Pastel Pink ($19.95), Kali Small Bowl in Pastel Pink ($12.95) ensured they made this year’s gift list, I love adding bright crockery like this to simple tones of white for a fun look and they’re not often things you buy yourself, so that makes it a winner for a gift idea!
I am of a firm belief that presents don’t have to be expensive to be awesome and this set of Laura Ashley Jacks ($16.95) is the perfect example. Games like this last a lifetime and are perfect for packing in the car for roadtrips, camping and get aways or grabbing while you enjoy a glass of wine. There’s something fun about games like this that make them a must on my Christmas lists.
It’s long been said the the Stephanie Alexander The Cook’s Companion ($97.95 Available From Booktopia) is a bit like the bible of the cooking world and for a couple just starting out, or someone new to cooking, this is an essential buy and what would be a very welcome gift.
