The Perfect Hunter Valley Weekend Part 1 - Love On The Lawn

The beautiful Hunter Valley just North of Sydney is not only one of the country’s premier wine regions, but it is also a mecca for fine dining, entertainment and of course, breathtaking weddings! Spring is an absolutely stunning time in the Hunter Valley; with the wineries lush with leaves and rose bushes blooming, it is picture perfect for your special day.

Last month, we were invited to a special weekend in the Hunter Valley which began with a wedding filled day at the Hope Estate in Pokolbin with the Love on the Lawn Fair. Arriving at the beautiful Estate on Sunday, it was buzzing with wedding vendors and vibrant bridal parties – and of course the charming gentlemen from The Bachelorette who were the star attraction for the single ladies.

Moving through the estate up to the Harvest Restaurant for a delicious three course lunch, it was a perfect way to start the day as it showcased the produce, creativity and service that the Hunter Valley has to offer. With the restaurant balcony overlooking the estate where the trademark tents and teepees were set up, guests were relaxing in the sun on the grass while listening to the melodies from the David Andrew Trio – good food, good company and good music – what more could you want!

After lunch, we made our way through the Fair which started with the Barrel Room of Harvest Restaurant. This space was an absolute highlight over the whole weekend; for a reception venue with its rich mahogany barrels and romantic styling, it certainly has the “wow” factor! Collaboratively styled from companies within the Newcastle Wedding Collective, the space truly was like stepping into a dream!

After moving through the barrel room, guests wandered out into the sunshine and through to the main tents to experience all that the vendors had to offer. With specialists from every aspect of your wedding day – from venues to flowers and cakes to dresses – bridal parties were delighted with unique offerings on display. Throughout the day, guests were also treated to four fashion parades with the final featuring exquisite international couture gowns from Helen Rodrigues – the perfect way to finish the afternoon!

Love on the Lawn is revolutionising the bridal expo experience with their Bohemian Luxe vibe and personalised touches which was loved by all across the weekend!
