I appreciate a good dessert, I will devour a delicious piece of cake but it is no secret to those in my life that my heart lies with cheese. So today I’m diving into different and delicious ways fellow cheese lovers can include cheese in your wedding. From a cheese wedding cake, to cheese desserts and stolen moments.
Swap the traditional sweet cake for a cheese wheel stack

One idea I truly love for the cheese lovers is to serve up wheels of cheese instead of (or as well as!) a traditional cake. So many amazing cheese shops specialise in creating delicious combinations of cheese now and they’re a great alternative if you’re not a sweet tooth. The added bonus? With their round shape, they look as much of a centrepiece as a traditional cake style wedding dessert.
Serve up a cheese laden grazing table

Imagine your guests arriving at the reception, or taking a glass of champagne post ceremony and being greeted by a spectacular grazing table. Laden with cheese (of course!) charcuterie, olives, crackers, fruits and dips. A beautiful way to let guests choose what they love to eat and to create a focal point.
We have plenty of tips and tricks on a delicious grazing table in our post Wedding Food Ideas – The Grazing Table for you to use!
Include a cheese course

True cheese lovers will love to add a course to their wedding day. One of my favourite weddings served up individual plates of the bride and groom’s favourite cheeses with fresh pear (and a good and solid red!). As the cheese pieces were just a taste, and a delicious one at that there was still plenty of room for dessert (and a palate cleanser in between!)
Enjoy wine & cheese as newlyweds

Every body tells you to take your partner by the hand and make sure you soak it all in. On your wedding day, being present is a really hard thing to do but this idea might just solve the problem. One of Mr Polka and my favourite things to do is dig out the wine and cheese for a quiet moment at the end of the week – it’s always a mini celebration!
Work with your caterer or a friend to escape, just the two of you for a little wine and cheese picnic. Pick your favourite cheese,a mini bottle of bubbles (or a big one!) a rug and a quiet spot, soak it in and enjoy your delicious treats while taking time out.
Place cheese boards on each table

I love that part of a dinner party when you arrive and there’s cheese and delicious food on a table, and one of my favourite wedding touches is having your guests arrive at their table to cheese and fresh bread. What a way for them to take the edge off their hungry bellies and become a conversation starter for those that don’t know each other well.
If you think my cheese loving heart stops at five ideas, it goes on:
– Serve up cheese fondue in the centre of each table
– Keep your guests full with cheese toasties at midnight
– Gift guests cheese boards as wedding favors
– Name each table after a favourite cheese
