Anna & Scott
You might remember Anna and Scott’s Australian Farm Engagement Photos. This country loving couple chose a beautiful Mudgee vineyard for their wedding day- bringing their love of all things rural to life as they said their I do’s. They chose photographer Gemma Clarke Photography to be there with them on their wedding day to capture it all.
On how they met, Anna tells, ” I am a country girl turned city girl once meeting the love of my life in the ‘big smoke’ Sydney, 6 years ago. Facebook enabled our two paths to cross and create a very unique love story. I was ready for my journey as teacher and he was the party king. Two futures that may have seemed to go in different directions but as time progressed created one life together. The country is my other life, and introducing Scott to this life was nerve-racking, especially when arriving in his ‘surfy’ clothes, turbo Subaru and trance music blaring. The first meeting of my father was a long walk through a paddock, what was said I will never know, but from that day our love blossomed.”
Hoot Invitations created the stationery for the day.
Anna wore a long sleeve lace gown made by Corston Couture , and one of her favourite memories of the day, “Mum helping put on my wedding dress with my best friend Rebecca.”
Mudgee Wedding Cars transported the bridal party to the wedding.
Anna walked down the aisle to The Wedding Song by Angus and Julia Stone.
Anna and Scott chose Robert Oatley Vineyard Mudgee for their wedding.
Anna and Scott note, “The two readings conducted by Anna’s brother and sister both of which symbolise Anna and Scott’s relationship. One being that of friendship and the other being how opposites attract, which is the whole theme of the wedding in speeches etc that we are complete opposites that fit so well.”
Anna remembers, “The day started with both our bridesmaid and groomsman getting food poisoning and going to hospital. They attended the ceremony but were too sick for anything else.”
“We both love sports, although different from the ones provided, they wanted some entertainment throughout the day with some interesting activities, so we hired lawn games to occupy the guests.”
Of their photographer, Anna notes, “Our photographer was more than just the person on the other side of the camera. Her charismatic and enthusiastic personality really made every moment leading up to and on the day memorable and enjoyable. She really worked on getting to know us in every way and made the tremendous effort in photographing our family farm prior to the wedding. She saw how much this meant to me and went out of her way to give us these special memories. Her talent and skill along with her generous and quirky character made our photos just perfect. We loved her.”
Anna remarks, “With my strong connection to the country there was no question about the location of our special day. Although the farm would have been ideal, circumstances led us to a vineyard wedding in Mudgee.
The planning began and I wasn’t going to just book just anything, I knew what I wanted and the teacher in me was going to organise every last detail down to last piece of twine. The theme of rustic/vintage was always my dream and although a popular theme I knew we could do it differently. The booking of the Robert Oatley Vineyard was special as the owner was our old neighbour whilst growing up.
From the creek bed, old windmill and willow tree backdrop for the ceremony to the barrel room for canapés to upstairs rustic wooden reception room, it was perfect and would capture every mood we desired for our day.”
Christee Lee Cakes created the white chocolate decorated wedding cake, Anna telling, “The cake was a hard choice as we are completely opposite in tastes, so we decided to mix it up and have half carrot and half chocolate to suit both of us.”
Anna says, ” Flowers are my thing, I love nature, so I ensured that lots of flowers were going to decorate the venue, mixed with hand made chalk boards and candle holders, two of my other favourite trinkets. The chalk board theme linking to me being a school teacher, as does the suit case for presents, which was my grandfathers.”
Of their first dance, Anna tells, “Our first dance began with Dad and I dancing to our favourite country Alan Jackson song and then Scott taking my hand to lead us into our favourite Katy Perry song, just another heart-filled moment. Every single moment of our special day has continued to move us, and although knowing we are complete opposites in every single way, the final moment of becoming one was absolutely perfect.”
