Angie & Wes
When a storm takes your wedding inside and what was dreamt to be a sunny day turns into bucketing rain, one has no choice but to smile and go with the flow and in the end Angie and Wes did just that. Their Athol Hall white wedding turning into an indoor affair with the moodiness of a stormy harbour set as a backdrop for their day captured by SugarLove Weddings.
Of how they met, Angie tells, “We met through mutual friends after both moving to Sydney seven years ago.”
Angie chose a strapless gown by Reem Acra, her bridesmaids in white dresses from Zimmermann. Angie explains, ” My favourite colour is white so from the start I knew I wanted an all white wedding which reflects the styling of the marquee, flowers and bridesmaids.”
Last minute thunderstorms meant an indoor ceremony, Angie remarking, “We got married in the rustic style hall on the grounds at Athol Hall. A storm came rolling in just before and during the ceremony which meant we couldn’t have the ceremony outdoors in the garden however the thunder and rain on the tin roof made the mood romantic and having all our guests inside the hall provided an intimate feel that we loved.”
A friend created the stationery in tones of navy blue and white.
White Rabbit Projects planned the wedding with decor elements by Perfect Pieces and masses of white blooms styled by Wilder. Angie notes, “I was very lucky as my mother in law has a beautiful French Provincial homewares business Perfect Pieces so we were able to source our vases, candles and most of the styling pieces from there.”
Simmone Logue created a two tier wedding cake decorated with white peonies.
Angie tells, “Our wedding was all white with a festive vibe where wanted all our friends and family to have a fun and memorable time.”
Angie remembers, “We didn’t get the glorious sunny day that every bride dreams of however at the end of the day our stormy wedding day was a fun filled celebration and I wouldn’t change a thing!”
For their first dance, Angie tells, “Wes picked his favourite song called ‘let the little girl dance’. ”
