Angela & Simon
I am a big fan of dressing up, I’m also a big fan of a good cafe – combine the two and you have a formal cafe wedding that sounds like one heck of a good time. Angela and Simon chose a popular Sydney haunt for their wedding day dressing in their fanciest attire and Matthew Duchesne and Russell Stafford of Milk & Honey Photography were there to capture it all!
Angela tells the tale of how they met. “Simon and I met at a mutual friend’s engagement party. When Simon made small-talk during the speeches, I turned around and he had me hook, line and sinker!”
Angela chose a stunning long sleeve gown with a feather adorned waist band by Pronovias. Her bridesmaids wore elegant black dresses from Zimmermann.
Angela and Simon chose The Garden at The Grounds of Alexandria as the venue for their wedding day. Angela telling, “Aside from the venue being picture perfect and the prettiest backdrop I’d even seen, our special day was full of love and happy, beautiful people – all so full of joy that we were getting married. It was perfect for us – personal, rustic, relaxed and drop-dead beautiful. The gardens were in full bloom and the fairy lights gave the night a magical feel to it. The food was sensational and the service of the Grounds staff was beyond. They are the event specialists!”
Angela walked down the aisle to Bryan Adams Live – heaven. She explains, “Our beautiful daughter, Georgia played a very special role in our ceremony – my sister and maid-of-honour carried her down the aisle and she was also our ring bearer.”
Jessie Cacchillo performed the ceremony, the bride telling, “Our gorgeous marriage celebrant, Jessie Cacchillo did an amazing job in sharing our story during our ceremony and put such a lovely, personal touch to our ceremony.”
Angela remembers, “Our ceremony started at 6pm – the weekend after daylight savings started so we had beautiful, soft light until our reception was in full swing.”
The flowers for the day were styled by The Grounds Florals by Silva. The couple came up with the seating chart themselves, “We came across this old ladder which suited the venue perfectly. We put twine across the rungs and tied our table charts to it. Silva decorated with some flowers and I think it looked beautiful.”
Guests received a jar of the couple’s favourite coconut flavoured jelly bellies as wedding favors.
Of their photographer, Angela remarks, “Matthew was just lovely, and very calm. He managed to capture some really special moments and the joyful feel of our special day.”
Of the first dance, Angela remembers, “We chose Barry White, Can’t Get Enough of Your Love Baby. I was agonizing over what song to choose but when it came down to it, we just wanted something fun to swing along to and a song that would put a smile on peoples faces and get them dancing. It worked!”
Congratulations Angela and Simon! Thank you for sharing your special day with us! Thank you also to Milk & Honey Photography for sharing today’s wedding!
