Today’s inspiration shoot comes from a team who were inspired by the notion of a bride and her girlfriends heading to the seaside for a pre wedding celebration. I love this idea for a hens weekend. Pack up and take a road-trip, create a beautiful, decadent luncheon by the water, play board games and sit in the sunshine and end the day with a campfire, marshmallows and damper. It’s a little different but so much fun.
Today’s shoot was a collaboration between stylist Poppy Jean , photographer Belinda O’Neill , florist Poppy Culture cake designer Regnier Cakes and hair & makeup artist Sophie Knox Hair and Make-up. Jules of Poppy Jean telling “Our gypsy inspired styled shoot was created by Poppy Jean and brought to life through the efforts of some talented creatives on the Mornington Peninsula! We wanted to create a relaxed, girl’s get away feel using our vintage caravan and the beautiful foreshore of McCrae.”
The weekend celebrations start off with a luncheon on the beach, Jules explaining, “Rich and colourful blooms (styled by Poppy Culture) alongside white with accents of gold were used to style the van and dining table on the beach.” The clothing throughout the shoot was supplied by Aurelia Boutique.
The props and styling was under the watchful eye of Jules of Poppy Jean who says, “Sophie Knox Hair and Make-up wanted to keep a bohemian feel to the make-up and hair. Hair was loosely styled in a “thrown together look”. Gold and jewelled make-up tones were used to complement the flowers and fashion in the shoot.”
The Poppy Jean caravan featured in the shoot – what a fun option for a weekend away (the couches can be converted to a queen sized bed). Jules noting, “The vintage caravan was our initial inspiration for the shoot as well as the local surrounds. Most of our creative team have fond memories of holidays in the area and camping on the foreshore. The Mornington Peninsula is a place of great beauty and contrasts; the soft whites of the sandy beach and greenery of the foreshore provided the inspiration for our colour palette of white, cream, rich colour and accents of gold.”
Decadent treats were aplenty because a girls weekend wouldn’t be complete without them! Jules remarking, “Regnier Cakes were involved in creating some delicious food on the day. The girl’s drank blooming tea, ate cupcakes and s’mores as well as cooking damper around the campfire. Regnier Cakes do amazing wedding cakes, dessert buffets and high teas.”
Just sensational shots and unique
Oh my gosh this looks so fun! We’re loving the free spirit boho feel of this shoot!
