Priscila & David
Priscila and David chose a Gatsby inspired wedding amongst the vineyards for their marriage. Incorporating special elements like gold mesh cages, fresh pomegranates and plenty of candle light to add to the special vintage inspired decor they created for their day. Every shot captured by the talented Damien Milan Photography
“The first night David ever went to church to ‘check it out’, he met Priscila in the coffee line. Neither of them could have guessed that three and a half years later they’d be married.”
Priscila wore a gown by designer Jennifer Go and added a veil from Pronovias and hairpiece from Anna Rivka. Her bridesmaids wore elaborately beaded gowns from Asos.
Priscila walked down the aisle to Pachelbel’s Canon In D. The couple choosing St Mary’s Anglican Church, Maitland for their wedding ceremony.
The couple celebrated the ceremony with cake (by Blackbird Café) and champagne!
Of their photographers, David & Priscila remember, “Damien & Anastasia were extremely professional and so creative!! Everyone is commenting on the quality of the photos and the story they tell. Thanks for helping to make our big day even more special. We thoroughly recommend these guys!”
The newlyweds tell, “The photos in the vineyards were very special. The sky opened up while we were far out in the middle of the vineyards to we got drenched but you have got to laugh in times like that. Our photographers made a great use of this magical light and captured the mood perfectly.”
Priscila and David celebrated with their guests at The Great Cask Hall, Hope Estate, Hunter Valley . They explain, “We both love wood and good wine so the Great Cask Hall seemed to be the perfect place to celebrate our wedding. As an old barrel room the place is already very rich in history. We wanted to give it a personal touch by creating an exquisite garden banquet. We added candles to set a bohemian vibe and the suspended ladders with gold mesh cages were inspired by Priscila’s market hopping in Paris the previous year.”
The reception was decorated by the couple inspired by Priscila’s Parisian travels. They remember, “We tied ivy and roses to antique wooden ladders and suspended them from the reception ceiling. From these we hung chicken wire cylinders spray painted gold with magnolia branches on the inside. Priscila laid the tables with gold trinkets she and her mother had collected. Her Mum sprayed tiny plaster birds from the local Two Dollar Store with gold paint and gold leaf and placed them on the tables amongst flowers and pomegranates.
Priscila and David note, “Everything on the day was sophisticated and cosy which is what we were going for. Of course I doubt anything would have changed the night from being the best of our lives. Not even the downpour during our photos in the vineyard.”
Priscila and David chose a classic for their first dance, remembering, “Our first dance was to Etta James’, ‘At Last’ sung by our friend, Lemba Augwi. Such an amazing moment! ‘At Last’ became our song early in our relationship and when I proposed to Priscila at Freshwater Beach in Sydney’s Northern Beaches I had a jazz band play the song.”
