Lucy and Paul chose a vintage style lakeside wedding to celebrate their marriage. The backdrop of the lake, beautiful blooms and plenty of sunshine led to a day of their dreams. After meeting at a pub, their wedding day was much more romantic and all captured by Matthew Evans Photography.
Lucy chose a strapless gown from Sottero & Midgley and her bridesmaids wore mint green dresses from Irene Costa’s Devine Bridal.
Nine Blooms created beautiful pink, white and green arrangements for the wedding day, with venue stylists Vintage Hire Company constructing the arbour decorated with these flowers.
Lucy and Paul chose Tinaroo Lake Resort for their wedding, Lucy noting, “We got married by the lake, and our reception was in the Lodge Restaurant. It was perfect. And I MUST mention Kylie from the Resort, she is the most beautiful person, inside and out. We really could not have done it without her.” Vintage Hire Company styled the ceremony and reception and provided hire items.
Of the ceremony music choices, Lucy tells, “We had Love High by Mark Wilkinson for the bridesmaids, and Close Your Eyes by Michael Buble for myself.”
Of their photographer, Lucy tells, “Matthew Evans was our photographer. We found him via the website of Tinaroo Lake Resort, and booked him before we booked anything else. He was so present, and stayed all night at the reception. He made us (awkward people) feel very comfortable and we LOVE the result of the photos.”
The reception was full of handmade, vintage inspired details. The newlyweds tell, “We had a friend make the table runners, we covered mason jars for tables and the aisle, spray painted candle holders, photo frames. Also the escort card holder and the place cards, we DIY’d the lolly buffet, Lucy hand wrote the chalk art and Paul hand made the suitcase for our cards.” Venue stylists Vintage Hire Company created chalk board signage at the reception as well as styling the tables.
Each guest received mints as their wedding favor, Lucy and Paul explaining, “Our theme was ‘Mint to be’. This being because our colour scheme was mint, our favours were mints and as Lucy grew up in New Zealand she says ‘meant’ like ‘mint’. Not to mention we are ‘Mint to be’.”
The first dance was short but so very sweet, Lucy tells ,” We danced to ‘You and Me’ by Lifehouse, only for exactly a minute because we both don’t like being the centre of attention!”
Congratulations Lucy and Paul! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Matthew Evans Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us!

Matthew you really brought the moment back – Paul and Lucy were such a lovely genuine couple, and it was an absolute pleasure to officiate for them, and of course to work with you again. I had enjoyed every minute of my time spent with them in the year leading up to the big day.
Just got back from walking with the camels again in the Simpson Desert hence delay in replying. Kay
