I love the vibe of today’s wedding inspiration shoot – modern ethereal. The backdrop with it’s slightly industrial feel, the stunning dream-like wedding gown, the trailing florals and the touches of gold (even the whimsical polka dots).
Grace of Floretta teamed up with stylist Amelia of Make Your Day Wedding Styling and photographer Gus Reyes Photography to create a shoot that as Amelia says, “had a bit of a Brunswick vibe as most of our businesses are located in Brunswick, we are so lucky to have such a talented group of wedding vendors in the area.”
The team, which included hair and makeup artist Sara Jade Beauty & Hairdressing, wedding stationer Grace Designs, wedding transport specialists Triple R Luxury Car Hire, bridal designer Bonita Bridal Couture and models from Talent on Demand was inspired by the venue – The Honey Bar. The team were inspired by bumblebees and settled on a colour palette of black, white and gold with plenty of greenery.
The industrial feeling of The Honey Bar, with it’s polished concrete floors, graffiti-style wall art and contrasting black and white stripe features set the scene overlooking South Melbourne through grand picture windows.
Florist Grace of Floretta who also moonlights as a stationer under Grace Designs created textured floral arrangements using creams, whites and textural greens. The shimmery champagne toned gown, on loan from Bonita Bridal Couture gives the look a whimsical romance – the hand beading adding an extra dimension.
The finishing touch? A delicious old school Bombe Alaska from Gelato Messina. Scorched Italian meringue covered a layer of chocolate fondant gelato, raspberry sorbet and a centre of flourless chocolate cake.
Grace notes, “Gus from Gus Reyes Photography likes to play story teller with his images and brought to life the delight and wonder of a wedding into this shoot. With a focus on photojournalism Gus is particularly skilled in helping his couples feel not only relaxed but confident and it is reflected in his the resulting photos.”
“The black and white striped wall at Honey Bar created the perfect backdrop to the bridal table which was styled with bold black and white striped placemats. Make Your Day Wedding Styling used vintage gold rimmed plates and moody blank candles to add glamour while a sprinkling of giant gold confetti kept things fresh and fun. “The car provided by Triple R Luxury Car Hire was a 1949 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith and was the perfect combination of vintage glamour and classic style.”
Floretta created two stunning wedding bouquets in palettes of creams and whites and textured greens. An ethereal circular chandelier of green foliage hung from the ceiling and the space was adorned with tall and lush botanical arrangements. The table flowers featured anemones, frilly peony tulips, blushing bride and glossy black privet berries.
I like these plants decorations for the wedding.
