April & Andrew
It’s not often we feature love stories on Polka Dot Bride without there being an engagement involved, but these photos grabbed me and really love is where it all begins isn’t it?
The love story of April and Andrew is a beautiful one and their shoot – which is described as “a little bit fairytale, a little bit rock and roll” encapsulates their story, their personalities and is a wonderful memento of who they are on this day. Heath Missen Of The Left Lane captured their story in motion.
Heath not only captured their story in photos, Alicia Jane captured their story in words and quite frankly, I loved it so much I’m going to share it word for word.
“It’s That Story. You know, the one where it actually is Love At First Sight. So much so, that April was struck mute when she first saw Andrew. Andrew, on the other hand, was busy working the crowd – like the born joker he is!”
“They were first introduced through her older sister’s boyfriend, who had grown up with Andrew. April was a sweet little apprentice hairdresser that had just left school – and Andrew, well he had been living the fast life in UK, playing soccer for Chelsea. April’s friends have a good giggle at her expense when she first spotted Andrew – she became so quiet. NOT like her at all. Her sister was suspicious and kept asking her what was wrong. For her part, April just couldn’t stop staring at Andrew. Her first thought? “He is BEAUTIFUL – I could marry this boy”. Then, as every sensible girl does, she decided that being so good looking meant he absolutely had to be too full of himself to be a decent guy.”
“Andrew has been April’s first and only partner now for nearly six years. As it turns out, Andrew is the kindest and most gorgeous human being April has ever met. Now, they simply couldn’t imagine life without each other. April says he can still make her laugh on an hourly basis – especially when he starts breaking out the vocal stylings on a road trip. (Although, quietly, he actually isn’t all that bad ;)”
” If the sun is shining on a lazy Sunday afternoon, you can find the loved-up couple down the park. Andrew with his soccer ball and April with a good book. On their more adventurous days, Andrew does attempt to teach April to surf – to varying degrees of success. April is adamant that, despite their appearance, they truly are old souls. For the pair, absolute bliss is a cosy night in with a nice cup of tea and a good movie.”
“She says: “After five and a half years, when he looks at me and calls me ‘Beautiful’, I still lose my breath. I can’t believe how lucky I am!” He says: “Her big bright eyes and smile are reflective of her personality. She just gets me – April understands me like nobody else. No matter how stressed I get over something, only April makes me feel at ease when I’m with her. She is perfect, simply irreplaceable.”
“We [The Left Lane] say: We had the absolute privilege of capturing this connection last weekend in the gorgeous pine forests just north of Brisneyland. Given April is a total Rock Star hair stylist and with Andrew’s broody good looks, we knew we had to pull something dramatic out of the bag in terms of location to match the couple. We’ve not had a shoot accompanied by so much cheeky laughter before. Check out that AMAZING megawatt smile! The result = Total. Magic.”
