Anna and Casey
Anna and Casey chose the stunning Villa Botanica for their wedding day, indulging their guests in incredible scenery, incredible food and a whole lotta love! The day was captured by Milque Photography & Films who captured both photographs and a film for the couple’s memories set against the incredible Whitsundays.
Anna chose a crystal embellished gown by Hilde Heim.
Amanda Fern Hair Design styled the bride and bridesmaid’s hair, while Loll Doll Make Up and Beauty took care of their makeup. Anna remembering, “Loll Doll Make Up and Beauty did an amazing job on my make up. I was so scared of being over done and she did my make up perfectly.”
“From the planning stages to the actual wedding day, we honestly never could have imagined how amazing our day would turn out. Many people told us about the stress and craziness leading up to the wedding day but Villa Botanica took care of all this and made the planning process fun.
Jane our coordinator was there guiding us every step of the way and ensured the lead up to our wedding was enjoyable and a seamless process. The venue was perfect! We wanted our wedding to be a loving, fun, relaxing day with a beautiful setting and what we got was so much more. All our friends and family had traveled a long way, some more than others, and the venue and the day really made it all worth it.
We had many guests comment that it was the best time they had ever had at a wedding. The ambiance was amazing and everyone had so much fun!”
Anna walked down the aisle to Ronan Keating’s “When You Say Nothing At All”.
Of their photographer, Anna remarks, “We have always admired Milque’s work and knew as soon as we set at date we wanted them to be there to capture our day. They were some of the best people to have around and made us feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout the day even during the bad weather. We were blown away at how amazing both the video and photos turned out. The special moments they captured as well as the fun crazy moments are amazing!”
Bouquets and arrangements of white orchids were styled by The Flower Hut Airlie Beach.
Sweet Ideas, Airlie Beach created the three tier wedding cake with bow detailing.
In place of favors, the couple made a donation to Movember and Cancer research.
The grand entrance was a lot of fun says Anna. “Our Bridal party entered into the reception venue to 30 seconds of a song of their choice (pop, to hard rock to hop hop) and did a dance to it , as they were introduced. It was a great introduction and the guest got to know them all a bit more.”
The speeches had their fair share of nostalgia, Anna remembering “One of my bridesmaids had saved a letter I wrote her back when I was a teenager that included a poem I had written to my “Prince Charming” once I had met him. She had saved all these years and read it out to Casey on our wedding day and it scarily sounded like I had just wrote if for him.
My Dad’s speech (Father of the Bride) included an amazing song “My Daughter is a Bride”. It didn’t leave a dry eye in the whole reception venue.”
For their first dance, Anna tells, “Our first dance was to Etta James – At Last. We both wanted an ageless classic for our first dance and this described our situation well. We’d been friends for such a long time and then had many hurdles to get through once we got together and our wedding day was a chance to show everyone how much we love each other.”
Congratulations on your marriage Anna and Casey! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Villa Botanica and Milque Photography & Films for sharing today’s destination wedding with us!
