Sophie & James

Sophie & James chose Sydney Harbour for their engagement portraits – Lavender Bay to be exact with the famous bridge peeking through the background. Photographer Grace Hobson of Willow & Co. took the couple around one of their favourite areas – the North Sydney foreshore, particularly Lavender Bay to capture photos of them together, relaxed and most importantly in love.

Sophie and James tell their story. “We started talking one night at a friend’s house and realized that we were perfect for each other.”

Of the proposal, Sophie remembers, “We went exploring the Daintree (Rainforest) in Cairns. We stopped for a picnic lunch by the beach and headed back to our luxury eco cabin for a couple’s spa package in the late afternoon. After two hours of relaxation we walked back to our cabin to get ready for dinner. When we arrived at the cabin there was champagne and canapé’s waiting on the balcony. Before opening the champagne James got down on one knee and very romantically he proposed, we then toasted to us being engaged !!!! ”

“We love to make each other smile and be happy , to be in each other’s company is our favorite place in the world.”

Sophie’s favourite colour is purple, one of the factors that came into choosing Lavender Bay for their engagement photos, Sophie remarking, “The North Sydney foreshore is a very special place to us. Every weekend we explore different spots around the area – Clark Park in Lavender Bay is our favorite secret garden. Whenever we walk through, it brings back lovely memories we have shared together, whilst also making amazing new ones.”
