This Lake House Wedding inspiration shoot tickled my waterside loving fancy this week. The styling echos the feeling of being at a waterside cabin in the wood. Loose floral arrangements vintage silver vessels and plenty of deer inspired elements bring a different feel. Something fresh but still cosy and refined. Captured by Studio Sixty Photography, a team of Brisbane wedding professionals worked to create a distinct look to suit the venue (The Lakehouse).
Danielle of White+White Weddings and Events, who planned and directed the shoot, explains the inspiration behind the shoot. “Starting with the phrase ‘lake house elegance with a Hamptons edge’, these leading wedding providers transformed the newly opened The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast into a stunning and stylish wedding venue. Brisbane’s best wedding suppliers worked together to produce an amazing styled shoot that really shows the versatility and beauty of this new venue.”
Cara from Invitation Station created a stationery suite reflecting the rustic edge to the decor – along with the antler detail. She explains “Inspired by my current infatuation of watercolours and textural backgrounds we bought the antlers to life with a leather look background and then surrounded them with water-coloured flowers for a soft and subtle feminine feel. Then to give them a bit of depth and warmth a burnt out background was applied to the card. The entire stationery suite matched the invitations, breaking into a wooden panel background for the framed seating allocation and ‘welcome’ signs. A nice ‘fat’ typeface and a fun play with words brought a modern splash to the suite and ‘viola!’ – an Antler stationery suite with a difference was born.”
Model Courtney complemented her floral crown with Samantha Wills earrings and an elegant gown from designer George Wu. The “Euphrates Dress” from the “The Eden of Genesis” featured a sheer illusion neckline hand appliqued with French lace and a silk tulle skirt and sash. Twidale Hair + Makeup styled the model’s hair and makeup- a natural look with a loose braid.
Vintage silver pieces with their tarnished look were filled with flowers styled by Roberta of Green & Bloom. Texture and tones were important for this shoot – Roberta using soft pastel colours such as apricot, pink and creams mixed with greenery – roses, blushing bride, lilac, daisies, daffodils, andromeda, ranunculus, flannel flower and lisianthus were all included. The guest tables were highlighted with hand string garlands of fresh blooms from velvet ribbons and the finishing touch was a floral crown for the bride- created with fresh lilacs, roses and andromeda.
Amini Concepts styled the shoot. Drawing inspiration from the natural surroundings on the Sunshine Coast and a colour palette of gold, ivory, white and green. Kelly added antlers as a bold, graphic element which was added to table centrepieces, stationery pieces and even a chandelier.
Model Tom wore a custom-made butterfly bow tie from Wil Valor along with a navy 9 ounce Italian three-piece suit also from Wil Valor. The look was paired with an Italian cotton shirt with coloured buttons.
For a more nautical look, the team took to the waterside and paired elements like wicker chairs with hurricane lanterns, glass buoys and thick rope to create an inspired ceremony setup.
As the couple took to the beautiful wooden row-boat, the scene was set with illuminated balloons from Float Balloons, For added warmth, the bride donned a feather cape from The Babushka Ballerina .
WOW!!! Thank you so much for publishing this Ms Polka!!! It was an amazing day!
Great wedding photographer. The photos are perfect. I love how this comes together.
Thanks for the post.
Love it! I don’t think I’ve ever seen antlers look so classy – made me smile to see them incorporated into everything.
Though I think my favorite touch was the floating balloons. Such a pretty shot!
Love the fabulous stationary! Bravo to all involved 🙂
Just stunning, all of it — the head piece, the balloons in the water, the dress! Bravo! Thanks for sharing such beauty!
