Kobie and Emma's Beautiful Townsville Garden Wedding

Kobie and I first met at highschool 8 years ago. I was the quiet new girl and Kobie was the mischievous trouble maker. We got engaged on our 7th year anniversary after a lovely relaxing weekend overlooking the water at Magnetic Island. Kobie nervously asked the big question on the patio of our new home that was under construction at the time. He got down on one knee under a beautiful starry sky and asked the question. I think I spent the next 3 hours asking ‘is this real’ and ‘are you sure’. It was lovely to create memories in our first home before we had even moved in. Our wedding planning began straight away – I spent 7 years dreaming of it after all. We had all of our big decisions made and booked within 3 weeks. It was such an exciting time.

My beautiful best friend and bridesmaid made the most amazing garter for me complete with a beautiful blue stone which also took care of my something blue. My Maid of Honour and lovely sister had an amazing hanger made which I discovered on the morning of our wedding upon opening the bag of my wedding dress. These little things made our day even more special and amazing.

Having my best friends and parents with me before hand was very special. We had a lot of fun dancing away to the Spice Girls and Michael Jackson. They really helped to calm my nerves and truly cherish the day. We had a lovely morning getting our hair done by Hayley at Mondobassi Hair and Kya at Boheme Beauty. It was great to have our hair and makeup completed at the same time and venue and helped to ensure the day was as stress free as possible.

The girls dresses were Mori Lee with shoes from Forever New. Our amazing flowers were created by the Townsville Flower Market. The morning of our wedding, Mum hand stitched my Grandfathers ring to my bouquet – a lovely reminder that he will always be with us.

I bought my dress from Hills in Hollywood. I didn’t intend on purchasing my dress when I did but it was one of those moments when the dress fell off the hanger into my arms and was everything that I had pictured. I wore a beautiful hair piece from Silver Shop which matched the beading and lace on my dress.

My Dad walked me down the aisle to a string quartet who played Canon by Pachelbel and an amazing rendition of The Beatles ‘All you Need is Love’ as we walked down the aisle as husband and wife. It was so amazing to see so many people that we love, and appreciate all in the one place – there just for us! We were married by celebrant Karen Piggott, a family friend. Together we created a ceremony that was so personal and just perfect for us.

Our amazing creative due of Skye Bree Photography and Luke Taylor made our day so special. They captured our day perfectly and made us feel so relaxed and comfortable. Not only did they take the most incredible photos but they have also turned into great friends.

The boys purchased their suits online from Hallensteins in New Zealand (where we later jet setted off to for our honeymoon). We chose to have photos taken in a few different locations around Townsville. We really loved the look and feel of photos with a warm natural background.

Our cake was made with lots of love by the creative and ever so clever Melissa Heitte from Paper and String.

We had Rock Candy lollies with ‘Kobie loves Emma’ written in the centre made by Kuranda Candy Kitchen on the Tablelands as our favours. Our ceremony and reception was decorated by Sarah at Dreamscene Events.

We held our reception in the Ballrooms at Jupiters Casino. It was filled with delicious food, lots of drinks, heartfelt and hilarious speeches, plenty of dancing and even a comedic rap performance by my awesome sister.

We couldn’t get over how much love was in the room and spent the night being amazed by our beautiful family and friends. In Kobie’s word the day was just LOVELY!
