As a fashion fan with a penchant for anything shiny, silky or delicately draped in lace, when the opportunity arose for a private viewing of Anna Campbell’s latest collection, Belle Ivoire – you can only imagine my sheer delight! Held at Anna’s beautiful Brunswick boutique, the viewing allowed me a first look at the newest gowns from Anna Campbell’s off the rack Ivory collection.

As I sipped on pink champagne and some delicious home-made brownies (crafted by Miss Campbell herself), I quizzed the designer on her inspiration behind the gowns, and what makes these glittering additions unique.

As Anna says, the vintage inspired collection was designed with her clients in mind – “I think the inspiration was our bride, it’s directly made for an Anna Campbell bride….it’s about the bride who wants that kind of beautiful, intimate, relaxed wedding and they want something that is incredibly designed and hand embellished but don’t want to go down that made to measure path. ”

Incredibly designed is right! Featuring gowns made of 100% silk and lace, the collection captures the flowing silhouette, delicate embellished detail and effortless glamour of all of  the Anna Campbell wedding dresses but adds a few new twists.

Floor length lace skirts are now available thanks to popular demand, and a new focus on in-built trains of lace or chiffon, adds an ethereal edge to the gowns. Another exciting addition is the creation of a new colour, ‘latte’ – a subtle, creamy tone that puts a modern touch on Anna’s vintage inspired designs.

But it wouldn’t be an Anna Campbell wedding dress without beautiful embellishments, and they can certainly be seen in this collection. Each hand-beaded gown features shimmering beading that graces the waistline and bust or adds drama to the back such as on the heavenly ‘Eden’ or stunning ‘Sienna’ gown.

Although choosing a favourite gown from the collection is almost as hard as choosing a favourite pair of high heels from my wardrobe (I love all of my babies equally!), there were a couple of stand-outs from the day.

The ‘Athena’ gown is fit for a Grecian goddess with its embellished waistline, while its clever straps can be worn in a variety of ways – from a sleek one shoulder to a cool cross-over back.

I was also loving the modern edge of the ‘Yasmin’ gown, which features a bold embellishment that shimmers across the neckline and wraps around the waist.

So, if you’re as smitten with the Belle Ivoire collection as I am, you can view it in-store at Anna Campbell’s Brunswick or Armadale boutiques, as well as online at her website.
