Inspiration was in the air on Sunday, August 25th as I was lucky enough to attend the One Fine Day Melbourne Bridal Fair. Held at the historic Abbotsford Convent, the fair was filled with a handpicked selection of creative vendors and their stunning stalls.
With stands for every aspect of your big day—from celebrants to cakemakers and photographers to dress designers—the fair was simply brimming with wedding day ideas!
As an avid craft fan (with a self professed hot glue gun addiction), I couldn’t wait to get inside and see what wonderful wares were waiting to inspire my next project.

Entering the fair, I was greeted by a complimentary—and dare I say, delicious—apple cider, courtesy of the Beer Gypsies stall. Apparently I’d arrived at the ideal time, as I stumbled (cider in hand) right into the middle of a bridal runway show!
Surrounded by blooming flowers and excited brides to be, it was great fun to watch the stunning models as they strutted their stuff down a gorgeous green runway. Dressed in divine gowns by designers like Gwendolynne and One Day Bridal, the dresses spoke of vintage-inspired glamour, delicate beading and soft, romantic silhouettes.

After getting dangerously close to purchasing a gown of my own (with no fiancé in sight), I decided it was time to check out the stalls that were on show. My first favourite was Cherrytree Bakehouse’s stand which featured an array of delectable desserts. Both rustic and glamorous, the cakes tasted just as delicious as they looked.

But it wasn’t just sugary sweets that caught my eye. Wunderplant’s innovative take on floristry had me feeling like I’d stepped into a secret garden! Surrounded by lush greenery and gorgeous blossoms, the florist offered an exquisite range of fresh flower hair clips, crowns and boutonnieres.
Other favourites of mine were Mickey Loves Jacqui’s unique wedding stationary, The Super Cool‘s quirky props for photo-booths and reception tables, and Tipikata’s terrific wedding tipi tents.

With my stomach full of delicious food samples and my brain full of inspiration, I headed home after having what you could certainly call One Fine Day.
If you’re also seeking inspiration for the big day, I suggest you check out One Fine Day’s website, as the fair is sure to be back to stun in Sydney or Melbourne sometime soon.
It was such fun being part of the fashion show.. with such amazing gowns to inspire xx thanks for featuring one of my models x
