Greg and Krystal

Greg and I met on the Central Coast at a mutual friends 16th birthday party in 2010.

We were holidaying on Hayman Island when Greg popped the question. He is a big planner when it comes to holidays so I didn’t suspect a thing when he booked a romantic day trip filled with snorkeling, whale watching, and champagne. I had no idea he had planned the whole thing, I was completely oblivious. Greg asked me to marry him during a private picnic on Whitehaven Beach. To say I was thrilled would be an understatement.

Marriage means Love, friendship, trust and support. Finding that perfect person that you love waking up to everyday – someone who makes you laugh, someone who encourages you to be exactly who you are & someone you want to share the adventure of life with.

We had our engagement party at a private residence at Pearl Beach on The Central Coast. We wanted our Engagement to be small and intimate and what better way to celebrate than a house filled with your loved ones.

My wonderful and very talented friend Elle Green was our photographer. On the day she mingled with guests and captured such breath taking moments. Elle went the extra mile and took the time to explore the nearby area to find different locations for the photos, capturing some magical moments. We are both so thankful to have had Elle photograph our day and just love our photos.

Greg and I did all the decorations ourselves the night before, over a bottle of wine of course.. We opted for Neutral décor with some accents of red and blue to make the space pop. We wanted it to be a relaxed engagement party with a fancy free freel where our guests felt more at home than a staged event.

Instead of gifts, we had a gift registry with Travelregistry.com.au where our guests could contribute to upcoming holidays, activities and our future honeymoon.

Simmone Logue did all the catering. We had roving canapés when guests arrived, a grazing table for lunch, followed by a decedent cheese platter and petit fours for dessert. To finish we served Banana cake with passion fruit cream cheese icing, which was so sensational that guests haven’t stopped talking about how delicious it was.

It was the hottest day on record in many years for March and with no air-conditioning it was a little challenging, however we didn’t let that spoil our day and if anything it made us realise how the little things don’t matter when you are celebrating your love with family and friends. Greg and I had left ourselves with only 10 minutes to get ready and in those few moments we had alone it made me incredibly happy knowing that this wonderful man is going to be my husband.

The whole day was just magical, we felt as though we had our own little piece of paradise at Pearl Beach and having our friends and family sharing the day just made it that much more special. We had several family members who requested to say a few words and their speeches captured the essence of our relationship perfectly.

Ms Gingham says: Gorgeous photography and a lovely couple. Thanks to Krystal for sharing her day with us!
