Although not recent, it was a trip of a lifetime for me. In February/March of 2012 I traveled to South America Peru to be the maid of honour at my best friend’s wedding. They got married in the vineyards of Southern Brazil, it was beautiful. After the wedding I traveled to Peru to tick one of the biggest items off my bucket list, to hike the Inca Trail. First up was Lima, the capital of Peru. It’s a beautiful city with a lot of diversity. Then onto the Peruvian Amazon, which was spectacular. We were taken into the amazon by motorized canoe and slept in an eco lodge. During the days we went exploring and got to see monkeys, toucans, capybara, piranhas and cayman. We also did a night walk and got to see a tarantula! Our next stop was Cuzco, to get ready for our hike. It was a pretty tough hike, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat. The scenery is stunning and the history is fascinating. My favourite place of the trip was the Cuzco market, I could spend all day taking photos and observing the hustle and bustle. The Peruvian people are lovely and the culture is very interesting. During the four weeks of my trip I spent time in Chile, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. I would recommend it to anyone!

About Bianca from miki.0: “I’m originally from the Netherlands where I spent 22 years of my life but I now live, work and play in Melbourne, Australia. In the spare time that I have left I love to cook, read, walk, ski and travel. Last year I spent 4 weeks in South America, which was an amazing experience. Peru was my absolute favourite. We also went to Hawaii, a place I want to return to. This year we’re off to visit my folks back home, but we’re also planning to sneak in some traveling. I’d like to visit Prague & Vienna.”
