Oriana and Josh
Oriana and Josh wed with only their immediate family members present, a day that was celebrated on the balcony of their exclusive suite overlooking the valley and hinterland. It’s a special thought to allow yourself to keep your day so very intimate and free of tradition, sharing it with just those closest to you.
Of their meeting, Oriana recalls, “It was at the Regatta Hotel in Brisbane nearly 11 years ago. It was uni-night Sunday. We were both wearing beer goggles. Love at first sight!”
Beautiful photographs today come to us from Jennifer Mendez Photography.
The entire wedding was held in the couple’s suite at Peppers Ruffles Lodge & Spa, Willow Vale. Oriana noting, ” It offered amazing view of the Gold Coast and Hinterland. The mountains felt calming and peaceful. It’s nice an’ stuff”.”
Oriana chose a simple gown by Lisa Ho.
Oriana recalls, “At 4pm, when the ceremony was scheduled to commence, my dad was nowhere to be seen. Just as I was starting to worry he walked through the door. Turns out he insisted the driver drop him at the ‘gate’ of the venue. Unbeknown to him, he had a 1.5km walk up hill along the drive way before he arrived!”
For her walk down the aisle, Oriana notes, “The plan was to have ‘La Valse d’Amélie’ from the Amélie soundtrack (our favourite film) playing but I think in all the madness we forgot to actually play it.”
Jen Belither married the couple.
Oriana describes the day as, “It was relaxed, intimate, boozy and fun.”
“I made the ‘candle holders’ from recycled glass jars decorated with lace and string (a stolen idea from another colleague).”
Of their photographer, Oriana says, “Three words…awesome, amazing, wacky. ”
For favors, guests received puddings in mini terracotta pots.
“It was very intimate, only our close family members where there to share the day. Being Polish, I wanted to acknowledge my roots so we enjoyed borscht (traditional Polish beetroot soup) as a starter. Our friend, Katie Tomkins, created our gorgeous wedding cake and Katherine Baker (work colleague) was behind our lovely menu design.”
Of their first dance, Oriana recalls, ” It was after the reception in the privacy of our suite. I cannot confirm nor deny if the sprinkler dance move made an appearance.”
Congratulations on your marriage Oriana and Josh! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Jennifer Mendez Photography. for sharing today’s images!
