Bust out your art skills to make these versatile mug diy wedding favours.
All you need are plain white glazed mugs and a porcelain marker, both of which I purchased both from Spotlight.
You may have seen a cheaper version with regular Sharpie makers but I recommend spending a couple of extra bucks on a porcelain marker to ensure they’re washable. Plus they come in a wide range of shades apart from the standard office colours so you can match your wedding scheme.
1. Write or draw your design on the mug, being sure not to smudge it. Allow to dry overnight. (Note: lines and dots work much better than filled-in shapes)
2. Bake in oven at 150°C for 35 minutes or according to instructions on marker. Allow to cool.
3. Fill with your favourite treat to go with coffee. Wrap in cellophane.
I went for a fun quote and an abstract pattern but you can use your imagination to come up with something that suits you. You can even personalise each one with the guests’ initial or lyrics to different loves songs.
If you’re not confident with your artistic abilities, keep it simple with basic patterns… I’m thinking polka dots!
