Easter Monday saw me sleeping in… and I’m not ashamed of it!! So I had no plans that I could speak of until a friend sent us a text message inviting us to take a trip to the Yarra Valley for lunch. We’re always up for some good food and wine so we hopped in the car and followed our friends to Zonzo. Upon walking in to the winery, I was immediately taken with all the little rustic details and started thinking… this would be a great place for a wedding. Low and behold the sign stating that Zonzo had won the Bridal Industry award for best Restaurant Reception and out came the camera. I had to share this beautiful little gem with our readers!

The perfect blend of contemporary meets rustic farmhouse, Zonzo boasts beautiful views of the vineyards that the Yarra Valley is so famous for. We sat down to the speciality of the house… wood fired pizzas and we weren’t disappointed! Yummy porcini mushrooms with talleggio, prawns with cherry tomatoes, and an eggplant and zucchini vegetarian combination. We topped our meal off with dessert calzones which were to die for! We were also lucky enough to enjoy the gorgeous floral arrangements by Blooming Brides that were left over from Saturday’s wedding!

The winery produces a large selection of wines and the tasting cellar is available for wedding ceremonies. With the massive doors open to let in the view, this is the perfect combination of the outdoors indoor! Very handy with the unpredictability of Victorian weather!

All in all a beautiful location, gorgeous food and lovely service! Zonzo might be just the venue for your rustic winery wedding!
