If there was a way to die from delight – I’d have done it after glimpsing this beautiful wedding! The details, the intimate touches, the whimsy and romance – it has it all! Soft pastels mixed with the natural greens and whites have brought a feeling of serenity over this old workplace, and we have Rachel from the blissful blog In Spaces Between to thank for the pleasure. I will say I’m a regular reader over at her blog, with its focus on happiness and self-fulfilment, not to mention beautiful things, inspiration and food! And now we get to share her gorgeous wedding with you!
We sat down for a (virtual) glass of bubbles with Rachel, and heard all about her special day.
Tell us about your Wedding!
Our wedding was held at a gorgeous property in the Byron Bay Hinterland in NSW called Gurragawee pm 2 June 2012. The vibe was rustic, natural, dreamy and vintage – with a modern twist.
What was your most memorable moment (or moments!)?
Truly? All of it!
Some highlights were the ceremony, which we wrote most of ourselves. It was heartfelt, intimate, totally real and a true reflection of us both – really, really special.
Besides the ceremony, I think my Dad’s speech will go down in history as one of the all-time great Father of the Bride speeches. He got standing ovation and high fives all night from the guests!
If you could change one thing, what would it be?
The actual day went off without a hitch but leading in we had some challenges with the previous venue we had booked selling (without our knowledge) and all our plans having to be changed 5 months before the Big Day.
Looking back now though, it was all meant to be as it gave us the opportunity to go back and assemble our ‘A Team’ (as we called the vendors) but at the time it threw a bit of a spanner in the works.
Who are your favourite vendors?
Elise from Elyssium Blooms and Simon from Eat Drink Catering.
What advice do you have for others planning their wedding?
Hire professionals and work with people that understand your vision for the day. If your life is already busy, hire a wedding planner to assist (something we didn’t do). Learning how to ask for help early in the game means you can focus on the important business of spending quality time with your loved ones before the day.
Just beautiful! We are so lucky to have been able to share this romantic day with our readers, and so many thanks to Rachel for her invaluable tips and advice! For more from the lovely Rachel, head to In Spaces Between and get some joy into your life!
What a beautiful wedding!! I am wondering where your dress was from? It is exactly the type of dress I’m looking for and I’m having such a hard time finding one.
