Bec and Dave
Victoria is lucky enough to have some of the most amazing locations in the country, or perhaps I’m just partial to the magic beauty of lakes and the enchantment they bring, Bec and Dave’s wedding was nothing short of a romantic occasion filled with the prettiest of pastel blooms and pretty, heartfelt touches that made their day their own.
Bec tells their story. ” We met on a sail boat in Croatia.”
The classic, beautiful photography today is by Melbourne based Lizzy C Photography who captured the romance of the day.
Of her bouquet, Bec remembers, “I used to be a florist so was up until 2am just two nights before the wedding with Trudy from J’Adore Flowers in Carnegie who did a wonderful job on the bridal flowers. All of the flowers wouldn’t even fit in one car! Bouquets included roses, lisianthus, freesias, succulents, silver suede foliage and ivy berry. Collecting all of the vintage crystal ware, teacups and old books was so much fun.”
For her wedding gown, Bec chose “Piper” from Baccini & Hill. Bec added her own sash with a rhinestone applique from Aleemahs Applique & Trim and ribbon from Lincraft.
Bec walked down the aisle to’ The Blowers Daughter’ by Damien Rice.
Bec and Dave chose The Lakehouse in Daylesford for their wedding, Bec recalls. “We loved the convenience of having accommodation, ceremony and reception all in one venue was great. The food was excellent, the venue is classy and the setting is really tranquil and stunning in autumn. The staff deserve a special mention too – very attentive. ”
Bec remarks, “I think we were going for a handmade, vintage, eclectic, romantic (of course!), and fun atmosphere and tried to make it a really memorable and inclusive experience for our guests so they would know how much we appreciate having them in our lives. ” For the bridesmaid gowns, Bec recalls “I wanted the bridesmaids to feel confident and beautiful in what they wore and also to dress them in something that they would want to wear again. Dresses were from Wish and Seduce and Jade hand sewed on appliques to hers (pink dress) which she bought online also from Aleemahs Applique & Trim .”
Of their photographer, Bec says, “We loved that she shared our vision for capturing the emotion of the day and telling our story without us feeling like being photographed was taking away from our wedding day. I also like that she did a pre wedding photo shoot a few months prior to the day where we were able to get comfortable in front of the camera. ”
Bec and Dave made sure their guests were completely and utterly spoiled, Bec recalls “We wanted our guests to feel the love so everyone went home with a whole box full of goodies. A few months prior to the wedding I potted some little succulents with my mother in law and wrapped them up in hessian squares a few nights before the wedding. David brewed beers at Barleycorn Brewers and I made some personalised labels with cute stick figure drawings of us on them. One of my bridesmaids made ANZAC biscuits presented in brown lunch bags and white paper doilies. And a supplier at our local farmers market, Misty Spring, made some raspberry jams and we decorated the tops with material in pastel colours and raffia ties. It was a lot of work but I loved every minute of it – and I had lots of help from the special people in my life.”
For their first dance, Bec says, “We had 5 private dance lessons with Robi at Melbourne Salsa and did a beautiful waltz for our first dance to At Last by Etta James. There were lots of dips and turns and ended with David picking me up and spinning around. ”
Congratulations Bec and Dave! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Lizzy C Photography for sharing today’s images with us!
