Alexandra and Anthony
It’s hard to beat good old country wedding glamour and Alexandra and Anthony’s Tumut wedding was every bit glamorous and every bit country. The country hall was decorated with glittering chandeliers, the beautiful country church held it’s charm with simple, beautiful touches and the guests celebrated under a star lit sky.
Of how they met, Alexandra says, “We met 12 years ago at a friend’s 18th birthday.”
gm photographics captured Alexandra and Anthony’s wedding. I love gm photographics classic captures- beautiful, traditional and oh so elegant.
Alexandra and Anthony chose St Stephen’s Uniting Church, Tumut for their marriage ceremony. Alexandra recalls, ” I had grown up in the St Stephen’s congregation, so it was a very special place to be married.”
Alexandra carried a bouquet by Brides in Bloom . Her elegant gown complete with lace sleeves was designed by Pallas Couture and she wore shoes by Panache.
Alexandra walked down the aisle to Saint Saens Symphony No. 3 Organ Finale.
Alexandra remembers, “As we walked down the aisle together, just married, all of our family and friends sang to us “ If I Had Words” from Babe. It was such a joyous way to leave the church!”
Alexandra describes the wedding as “Rustic country meets old world elegance.”
Guests gathered for drinks on the lawns of Gilmore Agricultural Bureau Agricultural Hall, Tumut, before heading inside to celebrate.
Alexandra recalls “The Gilmore Hall literally was a tin shed with nothing in it but birds nests. It was a wonderful canvas to be as creative as we liked, and do some magic.”
As for DIY? Alexandra says, “We did everything from the hanging mirrors, flower garlands on the walls, table candelabras to hanging chandeliers. We had extraordinary help from both of our ( large) families.” The couple hired chandeliers to add a glamorous touch to the country hall from Chandeliers to Die For.
Alexandra remembers “Our favours were jams and marmalades which the mother of the Bride had made. They were set up in old luggage to make a stall at one of the entrances to the hall.”
For their first dance, Alexandra recalls, “We danced to La Mer – by Charles Trenet.”

Would love to book it for a wedding.
Hi there Michelle,
We don’t have contact details on hand – perhaps the bride might and she will see these comments! I have been able to find the below webpage which should hopefully point you in the right direction!
