Welcome to another week on Polka Dot Bride! I’m looking forward to packing as much as possible into this week- what about you?
A little introductory hand wave as we spotlight, first thing, the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory
Take some time and look through our directory for your wedding vendors.. We have truly wonderful vendors in there- from Styling & Hire, Cakes, Celebrants, Flowers and even Photobooth Hire. We’re working hard to work with our vendors to deliver services to couples who ignite their passions, who want something wonderfully ‘them’ for their wedding days and that’s what they love. So visit the directory and take a look for yourself!
Adelaide based Peacock Lane Photography duo Amber and Chani have both loved photography since they were tiny, the love continued to high school, and as their friendship blossomed, so did their business idea! They love capturing weddings and promise they’re not your usual wedding photographers!
We asked Amber and Chani from Peacock Lane Photography five questions in five minutes –
What is your favourite after five drink?
Amber: Well, I had this mocktail once. It was called a Cinderella which in my opinion is the perfect drink for me because I love shoes and that’s what Cinderella was all about!
Chani: I actually don’t know what my favourite drink is! My fiance normally chooses the drinks. If I had to choose something I normally stick to a glass of Moscato. Basically anything sweet and I’m guaranteed to like it.
Your favourite weekend getaway?
Chani: I love going up to Middleton. I love the beach. My favourite thing to do is find a quiet spot along the beach and watch the sun set over the ocean.
Amber: That’s a tough one. I like Melbourne. Going to Melbourne and catching a show, shopping, dining in cute cafe’s; I like that kind of thing.
Favourite restaurant?
Amber: The Mount Lofty Summit Restaurant. It’s set in the most picturesque area and the restaurant is in an authentic 1800’s building. The food is delicious and I love that it has a calming atmosphere (if that makes sense!)
Chani: The Boat Deck Hotel is definitely one of my favourites. It’s special to me because that’s where my now fiance took me on our very first date two years ago. Not to mention the food there is to die for!
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Amber: I barely eat breakfast. But I’ll eat Coco Pops if we have them in the cupboard. Sometimes my family gets up a bit earlier and we make pancakes with cream, honey and fresh berries from our friend’s garden. Then we eat it picnic-style on a hill called Fox Peak on our property.
Chani: I normally have cereal, but every now and again everyone in the house chips in to make a big breakfast….bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausages, tomatoes and fruit salads – the works!
Your favourite wedding story?
Chani/Amber: One of our favourite wedding stories is of our friends Tim and Amanda. Theirs is a story of overcoming distance. Amanda was an exchange student from Brazil when she first met Tim. When her visa expired they both moved back to Brazil for a year where he proposed! Tim came back six months before the wedding to get things ready as they decided to live in Australia. They were apart for eight months before the Government approved Amanda’s visa. She arrived back in Australia one month before the wedding day. The wedding was so special with only a handful of close friends and family. It was beautiful; they were just radiating with the love they shared with each other.
