To celebrate Brisbane’s newest bridal affair The Vintage and Handmade Bridal Showcase Katy from My Darling Heart and Amanda from Adorn Event Hire styled up a beautiful 1950s pastel inspiration shoot. I love these shades at weddings, especially as we come into the warmer weather but I think they’re also easy to translate to other events like parties, bridal showers, kitchen teas and so on. The vintage twist is so fun to pay homage to nowadays, the glamour and charm of yesteryear is something special.
Katy explains, “The inspiration shoot is full of soft pastel shades, demure 1950’s silhouettes and pretty little details. We focused on a colour palette of cotton candy pink and mint green, complimented by peaches and mauve as well as hints of silver for the luxe factor. A combination of chic vintage pieces and sweet handmade details bought the story together. A short, 1950’s-style pastel pink ‘Audrey’ dress was the star of the day, with layered mason jar cakes, vintage pastel lustreware vases, flowers in pink teacups, and fabric-wrapped letters spelling out LOVE adding depth to the style story.
The vendors involved were very enthusiastic to put together an inspirational shoot that would embody what ‘The Vintage and Handmade Bridal Showcase’ is all about, and to inspire brides to wholeheartedly embrace vintage, DIY and handmade details in their wedding decor.”
