Alysia & Kim
Alysia and Kym’s countryside wedding was anything but black and white. Infused with Alysia’s love of colour and all things vintage, the couple went back to the place they love most in the world and held a private wedding in Taggerty, Victoria for 110 guests. Not only was the wedding filled with the presence of Kym’s late father, who loved the farm as much as the couple, but it was filled with the couple’s own love of life with so many beautiful touches and flashes of their personalities (plus the bride wore an ombre wedding gown, how beautiful is that?)
Alysia and Kym married after 10 and a half years of dating as high school sweethearts.
Photography of Alysia and Kym was captured by Fi Mims who have captured the vintage chic of today’s wedding with such a clear, beautiful style. Coordination of the day was by Ed Dixon Food Design.
Alysia and Kym held their wedding on Kym’s family property in Taggerty, Victoria . Alysia says “A favourite place of the bride and groom, it was also a favourite place of the groom’s late father Bill, it wasn’t a question as to if the wedding would be held there, more a given.”
A friend handmade Alysia and Kym’s wedding stationery.
Alysia wore a white and blue ombre wedding gown from Beautiful Bird Boutique. The bouquets were styled by Flowermee Brighton (03) 9592 1480.
Alysia walked down the aisle to Angus and Julia Stone’s “You’re The One That I Want”.
Post ceremony the guests sipped on Pimms, played croquet and cricket while enjoying mini fish and chip cones. The wedding food was catered by Ed Dixon Food Design.
Of their photographer, Alysia says “Fi’s eye for detail was perfect, it felt like there was a real interest in our day. Fi made the me feel very comfortable as I am known for being shy in front of the camera.”
The festivities were followed by a truly scrumptious reception in the farm’s shed which highlighted the vintage china, accessories and props the bride had been collecting. Alysia recalls “When Kym finally asked me to marry him little did he know that there had been years prior of collecting vintage pieces for our special day. When the engagement was official my bridesmaids and I continued collecting beautiful vintage crockery, cutlery, vases, games, typewriters and more for the special day.” The collection continued on after the day, Alysia explains “After the wedding (and on the day) there were so many lovely comments from the guests about the details of the as well as many suggestions about what could be done with the crockery once the wedding was over. However I already had plans for this and so the story of Vintage Lane Crockery and Prop Hire began, officially launching in January 2012,”
Peggy Rose Vintage Table assisted with the vintage styling of the reception while Alysia’s bridesmaids made homemade marmalade for guests.
Congratulations Alysia and Kym! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Fi Mims for sharing today’s photographs!
Thanks to author for your post and comment. It’s very emotional to see two absolutely happy people who unify their lives in to one. Congratulations.
Her blue ombre bridal dress is so beautiful, I checked beautifulbirdboutique.com and found that it is helpful for bride-to-be who wants an unique design.
Agree, the dress is so beautiful and the couple is gorgeous. Congratulations.
