We asked Kelly from Iridescent Weddings five questions in five minutes –
What is your favourite after five drink?
Espresso Martini – although this is my favourite after 10 drink…
Your favourite weekend getaway?
As we live in Sydney, I love going up to the Hunter Valley for our weekend getaways. Tom’s family has a property up there on the Hunter River, only 25 mins from the famous Hunter Valley Vineyards. My favourite time of year to visit is January. When its 45 degrees on the balcony, in the shade, there is little better to do, than sit back with family, drink chilled Sav Blanc and enjoy the sounds of nature.
Favourite restaurant?
A little taverna tucked into Kamari Beach, Santorini.
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Home made waffles with banana and maple syrup.
Your favourite wedding story?
For years I’ve always believed that love can ‘last a lifetime’. Its a notion that just always seemed to be there, but when I started to think about my favourite wedding story, it made me reflect on the relationships that have helped shape who I am. My best friend’s parents have one such relationship. They were young when they met, both teachers at the same primary school. They simply clicked. Within 3 months they were engaged and 3 months later they were married. The amazing part to me, was not only the speed that they were engaged and married, but the way they still look at each other, how they talk to each other with adoration and how they are idolised by their children. All this after more than 30 years of married life.
