Imagine sipping a glass of champagne and watching the famous Aegean sunset over the Cyclades Islands with your beloved. What a sight and experience that would be! That’s one of the reasons we think Grace Santorini, a boutique hotel perched on the Imerovigli hillside in northwest Santorini, would be an amazing honeymoon stay.
Yes, the panoramas from Grace Santorini’s terraces are breathtaking, but the accommodation is just as impressive, and there are lots of options depending on your budget. From Deluxe Rooms to the Grace Suite, all the rooms offer that light and airy Greek Island feel. The rooms also come with the option of a plunge pool, or the hotel has two larger, spectacular pools to take a dip in. And of course, in true honeymoon style, there are lots of cocktails and an array of refreshments for you to indulge in as you kick back on the comfy double loungers around the pools.
The food is said to be exquisite, and if you’re into Mediterranean cuisine it will be right up your alley. Apparently the chef takes requests too, so if there’s something you really want to try before you head home, just ask and they’ll see what they can whip up for you. Another factor that scores big with us is that they offer champagne breakfasts every day between 8:00am and 11:00am, as well as fine dining by starlight… Romantic with a capital R! If, after gorging on all the scrumptious food, you’re feeling a bit sluggish (or guilty!), there’s a gym to work it off in and a treatment room where you can relax and unwind with a facial or body treatment.
When you’re ready to venture out of the hotel, there’s plenty to do around the island. Popular for its beaches, checking out Kamari (with its famous black sand that stretches out for miles) and Red Beach (one of the most beautiful beaches in the Aegean Sea) should be high up on your to-do list. There are also plenty of restaurants and nightlife spots to investigate, excursions to go on and activities to try out (think sunset BBQ cruises, hot springs, museums and exhibitions, water sports, sightseeing walks and opportunities to view traditional life on Santorini).
For those looking for a destination wedding venue, you might want to consider this one. The backdrop is phenomenal, and Grace Santorini has a team of professionals on hand to work closely with you every step of the way. If you’ve got lots of family and friends making the trip over, you can also get exclusive use of the entire hotel, subject to availability.
If you were already thinking Greece or somewhere in the Mediterranean, then Grace Santorini might just be the place for you. Let us know if in your travels you end up here – we’d love to hear all about it and take a peek at your honeymoon happy snaps… how could they not be gorgeous in a place like this?

Ms Gingham says: A couple of extra tips from me are… try to avoid travelling to Santorini in the month of August. This is the time when the infamous Meltemi (strong wind) is at its peak and believe me, it can get very windy up there! Also, August is the month of a very important religious festival with locals taking their summer holidays so the island tends to be extremely busy. July and September are beautiful months with early September being probably the best time to visit. These photos are pretty much exactly what you’ll see when you get there. No photoshopping, trick photography or colour enhancements here. You’ll feel like you’re living in a postcard. Stunning!
