Liz and Joel
I think couples are never going to stop inspiring me – which is pretty lucky because the first real wedding we’re showcasing for 2012 is jam packed full of inspiration. So inspirational that even the tall wire clad walls of the reception suddenly became beautiful and fun. Today’s backyard wedding is so full of colour and life- it’s the perfect way to kick off the new year!
Photos today are by You Can’t Be Serious who just know how to have fun and capture it in every single photograph- they can’t help but make you smile!
Liz wore a vintage gown with Miu Miu heels, earrings from Mimco and her grandmother’s enamel blue bangle. Her bridesmaids wore jewel toned gowns in blue, green and red from Asos with bold necklaces Liz made herself.
Liz describes the wedding day as “A handmade colour explosion”
The groom and groomsmen wore Ralph Lauren.
Liz and Joel were married under the fig tree in Liz’s parents garden in Byron Bay. Liz says “I’m so happy with our decision to have the wedding my parents back yard, I grew up in this backyard and it was so special have all our friends and family come to visit and celebrate.”
Liz walked down the aisle to ‘North’ by Phoenix.
Harriet Fesq styled the beautiful floral arrangements.
Liz remarks ” I think one of the most special things about the wedding was the week before, having our close friends and families help to prepare the backyard and decorate….so many hearts, I was worried I might have bitten off a bit more than I could chew after the first afternoon of wool wrapping but with everyone’s help it looked amazing!”
Of their photographer, Liz says “The photos speak for themselves…. They are amazing, I really love how they capture the day so perfectly, very relaxed and colourful.”
Elizabeth worked with graphic designer Tess McCabe to design the stationery.
For their first dance, Liz and Joel chose ‘I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire’ by The Inkspots.
Guests were spoiled with food from EatDrink Catering.
Congratulations Liz and Joel! Thank you for sharing your colourful wedding day with us! Thank you also to You Can’t Be Serious for sharing today’s images!
