One of the best moments when you’re planning a wedding is when you come across something that is just perfect. Even better is when your fiance finds it for you.
So I was more than a little excited when he stumbled across My Little Chickadee Creations, a store on Etsy that sells save the date magnets and wedding favours, but with a twist. Shop owner Ellie offers an array of designs that are hand stamped and painted onto travertine tiles. You are then free to choose your own colours and the design is stamped with your names and the date of your wedding.
My fiancé and I selected the owl design, opting to have one owl in green to represent me and the other in a dignified charcoal to represent my groom. When they were delivered a few weeks later we opened the box to find rows of little owls staring soulfully out at us. They were everything we had hoped – a unique and lasting memento of our day and adorable to boot! Even though it was all thanks to Ellie, I couldn’t help but feel just a little bit creative.
Ms Gingham says: These are so unique and really beautiful. The little owl couple starting their lives together … I really love it!
Karen says: “I’m 25 years old and I’m an aspiring writer trapped in the body of a lawyer! I also have an Arts degree with a Major in English, which saved my sanity during university and allowed me to do what I love – write! Last but not least, I’m a bride-to-be and I’m writing a book about planning my wedding and all the craziness that comes along with it (see, for example, being told that my wedding photos will be ”deformed” because my bridal party is uneven). I’m also working on a children’s manuscript.
I’m looking to inject some colour (and some polkadots if possible!) into my career. It’s my dream to write full time – so here’s hoping!”
