Happy Monday Dots!! This week is such a funny one with Melbourne Cup right in the middle (which means it is definitely, completely Spring!) It’s almost time to launch into the festivities the end of the year brings, but I’m not quite ready for it- how about you?
Let’s kick off our week of inspiration with a spotlight on Ms Polka Dot’s Directory! I am so proud of the people we have in our directory because they are SO talented and SO friendly and we really enjoy each and every day we work with them. From all different price points, to all different styles – they’re all understanding of the Polka Dot culture and love working with our readers! Take a peek and see what you might find!
I’m so very happy to introduce this week’s vendor of the week photographer Lara Luz! Lara describes herself as “a little different to most”. She loves photographing weddings with a twist and creates such a beautiful sense of drama in her photographs to accompany the stories she tells. Lara photographs both weddings and commitment ceremonies and makes a point of getting to know her couples.
To find out more about Lara Luz (Photography) we asked Lara five questions in five minutes.
What is your favourite after five drink?
I’m one of those strange creatures that doesn’t drink alcohol so a nice refreshing blood orange Agrum does the trick nicely!
Your favourite weekend getaway?
I’m a huge fan of the beach. There’s nothing like taking the one you love for a romantic beach getaway.
Favourite restaurant?
My favourite restaurant is constantly changing. Right now I’m into nice, wintery pub grub at the Union Hotel. They make a great steak sandwich too.
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
My partner and I spend our available Sunday morning’s at our local cafe eating scrambled eggs with bacon. They make the best scrambled eggs in Melbourne.
Your favourite wedding story?
I’d have to say it would be from a wedding I shot in Queensland. Never having had been there before I just wasn’t used to all the toads they have up there. It was an extremely hot day and as soon as the sun dropped, they all came out and sat around the lights in the garden. I got the biggest fright when I went outside and realised that I was literally surrounded by them. They were everywhere!
Needless to say I headed back inside rather quickly.
